Ok. So I've seen these lists around other fandoms, and they always amuse me.(There is a large collection of them Here- some of the the links are broken though.) I thought it might be fun if we had one too. So this is my attempt. I just thought it would be a cute way to amuse you guys while we wait for any news of Season 4.

Top Fifteen Dasey Moments Picspam:
This was really hard to make actually. There are moments I had to leave out- and it kind of breaks my heart that I didn't have room for them. I had to make a 'one moment an episode' rule because there are episodes I could have pulled like 5 moments from, but that seemed unfair. So yeah. I know this is missing moments, and the order here is up for debate- but, fifteen is an amazingly small number when it comes to these two. Enjoy.

15.Derek Can't Stop Talking about Casey

Derek: You're breaking up with me?
Amy: Yeah well, it's just you're always talking about how annoying Casey is.

Why It's Awesome: It's just so very fanfic. I love when we get canon confirmation of things we've speculated about, like just how much time Derek spends thinking about/talking about Casey. I love that Casey is the direct reason for their break-up. The canon reason Derek isn't with Amy- is because of his focus on Casey, and that's pretty amazing.

14. Derek Fires Casey

Season 1

Derek: You were a very loyal employee... but I'm afraid you're fired.
Casey: What?
Derek: Yeah I don't' need you anymore.
Casey: You beg me to help you. I do a great job...and then you fire me?
Derek: Business is cruel. But not totally heartless.
*hands her a cell phone and grins*

Why it's Awesome: This is one of the first times we really see Derek and Casey work together- and one of the first times his soft side comes out around her. I love how much he knows about her life in this episode. I love the way she is willing to compromise her morals a little, and flirt with nerds, for him. I love this ending. I love that he has Frank get her completely off the hook. I love this ending with him giving her the cell, her beaming, and him shooing her off. This is also one of the first times in canon I'd call them affectionate.

13. Casey Learns to Lie(Sort Of)

Why It's awesome: Lies My Brother Told Me has a special place in my heart. This is another Derek and Casey work together episode, and I love it. What really makes this for me I think, is that once he's part of the plan, he throws himself into it. He's totally committed, and he has nothing to gain. Nothing at all. I've always loved that he 'highlights the sappy passages', because it shows real thought on his part. He didn't just bully Edwin into photoshopping some pictures, he did research for her. I love that.

12. Casey plans a Party

Season 3

Derek: Honestly I'm surprised you had anything to do with this.

Why it's Awesome: This always makes me smile because it kind of defines exactly how far they've come, and how far they still have to go. I love that she spends all this time and effort and thought on him. This is not something that could have happened in the first season. Casey wanting to do something that will make Derek happy- and putting real effort into it, is such a huge step for them. It's one of those times when you can just see all that affection they're building for each other, and it makes me squee a little. What's great though- is that then we get his line about being surprised she had anything do with the party, which breaks my heart, and then his refusal to hug her. I just think it says so much about where their relationship is right now.

11. Derek and Casey are Trapped

Derek: Whoa you need to calm down.
Casey: Calm down?! I hate it when people tell me to calm down! It makes me very tense.
*She holds shampoo threateningly*
Derek: Casey put that down.
Casey: Make me.
Derek: Fine, don't. But prepare to be shampooed.

Casey: Go ahead. I've seen your bathroom aim before. No way you hit the target

Why It's Awesome: This is just like the classic Dasey moment. The Party is the first episode of LWD I ever saw, and I pretty much shipped Derek and Casey instantly. It should probably be in the Top Ten- but like I said, this list was really hard to make. So *shrug* It's 11. Anyway, I love that they fight, with full on rolling all over each other. I love that they end up just sitting and talking, and smiling at each other.

10. Derek and Casey Make a Bet

Season 3

Derek: Care to make this argument more interesting?
Casey: How so?
Derek: Last one to get their license pays the other's gas for a year.
Casey: Deal. And may the best driver win.

Why it's Awesome: You'll notice there isn't a single, 'Casey shoves Derek into bed moment' on this list, or a 'Derek talks to Casey while in bed and smirking' moment- and that's because in the end I went with this one. I don't think we've ever seen more sexual tension between them than right here. I love this bet- the way they walk towards each other, the leaning in, the smirks on both of them- guh. Then this look he gives her? I actually squeed the first time I saw it, like really loudly- I got funny looks from my roommates. This look is just so blatant. He wants her, and it's obvious. I think I said in my original review of this episode, but seriously, this scene makes me jumpy just watching them. It's amazing.

9.Casey lives Dangerously

Derek: You have a lot to learn about living dangerously
Casey: Danger is my middle name.

Why It's Awesome: Ok, so I'm sure I'm going to get asked why this only number 9. The thing about TTGBNT is that it's the feel of the whole episode, more than it is any one moment. That said, I do love their sneak out. It's adorable. I love their matching sweats. I love that she makes them sandwiches. I love that she names the plan. I love that he brings 'living dangerously' back from The Party. I love that they hide under the table, all pressed together. There's also two of my favorite things here- working together, and doing things each other's way. Yes sneaking out is all Derek- but that whole 'have the Davises call George and Nora' thing was all Casey, and he went along with it. I like that.

8. Derek Quits his First Job for Casey
Don't Take a Tip from Me
Season 3

Derek: I quit. No one talks to my stepsister like that. Except me.

Why It's Awesome: This whole episode is crazy Dasey, but him quitting for her? Epic. It's not just that he quits either- it's that he's really good at this job. He's been made manager- and he gives it up, because the guy is mean to Casey. That's so awesome. Plus, I love so very much that he wasn't even going to tell her. He wasn't ever going to let her know that's why he quit. That's just so adorable.

7. Derek Fights For his Love
Male Code Blue
Season 1

Sam: Tell her Derek! Tell her about your stupid male code!
Derek: That's what we're fighting about?

Why It's Awesome: Because it's Male Code Blue? We've talked about this episode a million times, and I don't have anything new to say. I'll just let you look at the pictures of Sad!Derek, and try to figure out- again- what Derek thought they were fighting about.

6. Derek Takes Casey to Prom

Season 3

Derek: I've come to take you to prom

Why It's Awesome: Ok, so this is another time when I actually squeed and got funny looks. This is so cute. The look on his face when he's watching her open her prom dress is amazing, and another time when his feelings for her are really obvious. My favorite thing about this all might still be that he leaves Sally to come take her to prom. Max doesn't come get Casey- Derek does. They both have love interests in this episode- and yet the big moment in this episode, is a moment between the two of them. The plot is still about their reactions to each other- the prom episode is really all about their relationship- and I love what that implies.

5. D-Rock is Playing Their Song
Battle of the Bands
Season 2

Audience: We want the real D-Rock!
Casey: You know what? So do I.

Why It's Awesome: Again with the Derek facial expressions.(Mike ships Dasey. Seriously.) The look on his face when she 'wants the real D-Rock' is priceless. He just looks so amazed by her, and so... in love. He really does. Then, we get the stage grind moment, and it's so awesome. It's like they're both having fun, and they've let their guard down, and so they're all over each other. Plus you know.. they're grinding. I'm still not quite over this moment honestly.

4. Derek Fights the Casey in his Head

Why It's Awesome: I think I love this moment more every time I see it. There's just something about the fact that she's the voice in head. It's another sign that he spends a lot of time thinking about her. I like that he hits his head and it changes, I like that he answers the Casey in his head too- the "Good Plan Case" is adorable. Plus I love how much time he does spend pranking her- how much effort he puts into annoying her. I love that George and Abby clearly see Casey as his main distraction. That's awesome. Plus- once we get here, to talking to the Casey in his head- it's pretty clear that Derek is either in love with her, or he's completely insane.

3. Casey Defends Derek

Season 3

Casey: I'm not always going to be around to protect you, and if I hadn't stepped in Robby might have rearranged your face!
Derek: Well the ladies do like my face where it is so... I guess I should... thank you.

Why It's Awesome: I love everything about this. I love how worried about him she is. I love that he opens up to her. I love that she goes up against a guy like twenty times her size to protect him. I love their exchange at home- and how sincere his thank you is. I love that we get a missed hug. This is another 'where they are' moment- but I think this one is an actual step forward for them. Her defending him, his opening up, and the honesty of that moment at home? It takes their affection up a notch. Like we see that they're bonding, it gives away how much they've come to care about and rely on each other. Yay.

2. Derek Calls her Dad Back

Season 2

Derek: Everything ok?
Casey: Yeah...everything's fine. Should make a full recovery.
Derek: And will you make a full recovery?

Why It's Awesome: Ok, this still makes me all melty thinking about it. By the time this episode aired, I was writing fanfiction and actively shipping Dasey, and God how I loved this. I think I walked around for a week going,

"He loves her!" in an annoying high pitched voice. That's still pretty much my reaction to this scene. I really think that no matter what else happens between them- this will always be really important. It's one of the first times we see that he doesn't just want her, he cares about her. I love that he is the one to come check on her, it doesn't seem to occur to anyone else that she'll be upset. Derek knows she will be, and he comes to see. I love that he calls her dad back secretly. He never would have told her- and you get the feeling they've never talked about it. Which is just so adorable. I love that Casey says how sweet it was with this little smile on her face. It's just so important. I love it.

Why It's Awesome: This is almost more important for what it did for fandom- then for the moment itself. It just made Dasey fandom so happy. What I think is great here, is again the look Derek's face. It's kind of amazing how many Dasey moments come down to Derek's facial expressions. I love that he affirms what Marti said- there is just something really tender about this moment. I love what it leads to- like, the things she does for him in the rest of this episode, the studying and the waiting- it all comes from here. I love that.

So I've always been kinda fascinated by the whole Degrassi kids showing up on Life With Derek thing. Then, in the end of Season three we got Kate Todd from RFR and Robert Clark from Strange Days- people just keep appearing at JS Thompson. It amuses me, and so I thought I'd make a picspam post about it.

Degrassi pics are surprisingly hard to hunt down. None of these screencaps are mine- google images found them for me, I had to fight with it for awhilw though. Life With Derek captures from Seater Online, as always. I should really learn to make my own screencaps.

Sully was skeezy and pointless. Sam is wonderful and endearing. Easy call. I wasn't always a Sam fan, but when he reappeared in Season Three with personality traits? I loved him. And, in retrospect, Sam and Casey's courtship was kind of sweet. Nothing Sully ever did was sweet. Sully wore sunglasses inside and called Manny 'boo.' Ick. Plus, Sully never could have hung out with Derek. Derek would hate Sully, and any personality changes that allow you to be friends with Derek? Are awesome.

LWD Status: Hard to say.

I'm pretty sure JT would have been Derek's lackey and then tried to start up his own business too. Frank doesn't have many lines, but as far as I can tell, he's JT on vacation. I really can't make them two different people, and I love JT(*tear*) so that's fine, but still it makes this hard to judge. I think this entire plot could have happened at Degrassi actually(especially in the first few seasons.)- only Ms. H would have expelled them, or made them repeat the 12th grade five times, or possibly made out with George.

Since both Ralph or Spinner are very, very awesome- I can't make this call. I mean, Spin has all that angst and back story- but Ralph has monogrammed drum gloves. Spinner is friends with Jimmy, who I love- but Ralph is friends with Derek, who I love. Spinner has some of my all time favorite Degrassi lines- but Ralph has some of my all time favorite LWD lines. Maybe Shane Kippel should just be on all TV shows. I think it's a good plan.(Did you know? Shane Kippel has a tattoo of a maple leaf on his hip. Yeah I just think everyone needs to know this.)

Not because I have anything against Trevor, but because the Tim/Trevor connection confused me the first time I saw "The Bet." I was convinced that Trevor was gay. I had no reason for this, obviously, but I kept waiting for that to be his confession to Casey at the end. Even though he'd done nothing to give me this idea, and I knew full well I was watching Disney so that would never happen. It wasn't until I IMDBed Life With Derek that I figured out it was the same actor. Then I felt stupid for not recognizing him earlier. This is my fault entirely, but all of these 'upgrade', 'downgrade' calls are random and based on nothing but my sleep deprived opinions. So *shrug*

I'm pretty sure she actually ran away to start fresh at JS Thompson. That whole getting punched by her best friend thing for being a total slut thing, was hard for her. She might not have any lines on LWD, but she might at some point, and as of right now we've never seen her passed out drunk or getting punched. She did get to kiss Sean on Degrassi, but now she gets to check out Derek and listen to Sheldon sing. So I think as a whole, her life is better at JS Thompson.

The first time I saw "Mice and Men", I declared Kendra to be, "Paige with none of her good qualities." Which, isn't totally fair, and really, Kendra had her moments. She could be kinda perky and sweet at times. That said, she called Derek, "Derry" and "Der-bear" and I cringed every time. Plus, Paige is one of those characters that is Degrassi. Kendra made no real difference on LWD, excpet I guess showing that Derek could have a steady girlfriend. But whatever- Paige is Paige. It's hard to top that.

Kate Todd is trying to play Lauren Collins's game and appear on as many shows as possible. (Lauren Collins was also on RFR. I didn't include it, because Blair was just Paige in glasses. Whatever). Interestingly, she is the only person so far to show up on LWD before being on Degrassi. Maybe Shane Kippel mentioned the JS Thompson to Degrassi underground tunnel to her during an episode, and she'd always wanted to see the Degrassi set, so she figured she'd go check it out.(Do you think all the extras are the same? They take can take the tunnel from set to set). Anyway, her character on Degrassi served no purpose other than to be bitch to Emma, so Sally is obviously an upgrade from that. As for Lily? Well the way I see it Ray+Travis+ River Pierce(who is now on Degrassi... and has made out with Lauren Collins's Paige. I love Canada)< Derek. Plus at Roscoe High freshman year seems to take like five years and 46 love triangles, so any escape from that is a good thing.

Because I hate Vaughn. So much. Plus Vaughn's appearence might prove lizwinlove's theory that Mike and Shadia brought the tunnel with them to JS Thompson from Blake Holsley. The weirdness is following them.

And it amused me too. Them talking while Derek is in bed might actually be LWD's longest running recurring theme. Dirty.

The first season- a write up.

I wrote the first season out(except Pox Father, because at the time I couldn't find it), Dasey style by request a while back. I found it in my documents while I was working on my Dasey Manifesto- so I thought I'd share it with you guys.

Also? I wanted to show off my new layout. Look- stephluvsyou Made me a pretty header!!! Yay.

The First Season:

The Room(pilot).
With in the first thirty seconds, Casey complains about Derek- and they have their first fight.
He is smug, she is annoyed. Casey and Lizzie are stuck sharing small room- the room that used to Edwin's.
They then use the words 'sister' and 'brother' with irony laced sarcasm.
We cut to Casey complaining about the Venturi clan's lack of manners. While she is in the bathroom, Derek comes in and says,

"Do you mind?"
"Yes." She replies, "I was here first."
"Suit yourself" he says as he prepares to pull down his pants in front of her. (awesome!)

That night while she is getting organized for school the next day, he calls her a 'super keener' it is adorable.

At school Casey meets her new locker mate and soon to be best friend, Emily. Emily has a mega crush on Derek. When Casey reveals she is Derek's new stepsister, Emily tells her,
"you are so lucky!" Why this makes her lucky, I'm not sure, unless of course Emily is secretly a Dasey shipper, even in season one.

In an effort to gain some control, Casey calls a family meeting and asks about having Derek's room. An appalled Derek scoffs and pops the collar of his polo shirt at her.

Later in the hall, after he sends Edwin to talk her, Derek and Casey have this adorable exchange.
Derek: In my house, I always get what I want.
Casey: Aren't we arrogant?
Derek: Yes we are.
It should be clear to everyone by this point that want each other. They want each badly.

In the scene transitions, Derek and Casey wear crowns and battle over a thrown. And by battle, I mean she sits on his lap. No, really. She does.

When George and Nora suggest Casey use the basement as her room, she responds that she can't possibly do that. Derek smirks at her and says,
"aw not good enough for you Princess?"

Casey launches a plan to get Derek to think he wants the basement room,(because 'what Derek wants, Derek gets') she so can have his room. They meet in the hall that night, she is in on her way to the bathroom, he is going to check on the basement progress. She accuses him of this and they banter for a minute. Then he walks away and does a brush against her shoulder nudge thing.

Later they have their infamous stare down in the basement. Casey still wants Derek's room. Derek is still not budging. George and Nora won't let anyone come upstairs till someone takes the basement room. Casey and Derek walk circles around each other. The sexual tension is so thick, I'm surprised Edwin can't feel it way up the attic.

Derek and Casey fight about their parents and the room some more. Eventually Nora decides that Casey has given up enough for her, and that she and George will move to the basement. Derek thinks this is a great idea. He smirks and says:

"That will make a whole floor between you and us kids!" Which... I can only assume is exciting because he figures it will be easier to sneak into Casey's room that way.

The episode ends with her on his lap again. They're sitting on the thrown and she pulls his crown over his eyes. Aww.

The Fall:
Its been two weeks since school started. Emily is the only one who knows Casey is Derek's stepsister. He passes her on the stairs and comments on her outfit,
"Going to a funeral?" She tries to think of a comeback, fails and topples down the stairs taking several students with her. He laughs and calls her, "Klutizilla." Because he is Derek, and whatever he says is law, the name spreads.

At home later Derek pulls out his video camera and begins filming her. It is adorable.

Later, after Casey finishes her workout in skimpy clothes, she is in the kitchen getting a drink when Derek and his best friend Sam walk in. As it turns out Derek hasn't told Sam he has a new stepsister. He refers to Casey as a,
"recent accident by marriage." She falls backwards into a box.

In the scene changes they wrestle and he picks her up and carries her away.

At dinner they flirt some more:

George: Enough with the Pig Latin.
Marti: Pigs speak Latin?
Casey: I don't know ask Derek.

Not Dasey related, but this episode is also the first appearance of the games closet.

Derek goes to see Casey about fixing her reputation after Lizzie guilts him into it. Casey claims to not want his help. Derek walks in anyway and sits on her bed. They banter, and it occurs to Derek that Casey may like Sam, as he was present at her falls. He looks really, really horrified at this thought. He tries to stand up, and she pushes him back on to her bed. Twice. Derek leaves her room, still looking angsty about the idea of Casey liking Sam.

At school the next day, he guilts Emily into being seen with Casey. He then stops her klutzilla rep. Casey is about to make a terribly embarrassing speech to the whole school, so Derek sends Sam in after her, but he doesn't look very happy about it.

Casey and Sam walk away down the hall. Emily tries to talk to Derek, but he's disappeared. We cut to Sam and Casey, having a sweet little goodbye in front of her class. She beams at him. We then see that Derek has been lurking there the entire time. How he got there, I'm not really sure, but its clear he is following Casey and Sam. Brotherly. Right?

That night at dinner he calls her, "Casserole Casey" and she smiles at him.

The Party.

The Derek and Casey are trapped in small space episode. Unfortunately it doesn't end with them making out- but they do come awfully close. The episode starts with them in the bathroom having a nice conversation- then the Casey voice over wonders how she got there, trapped in a bathroom with Derek. Then we flash back to two days ago and Casey and Derek fighting over the remote. They touch a lot during this fight. At one point she is on his lap. George and Nora are annoyed that Derek and Casey can't just get along. They are going out of town this weekend, and are afraid they'll have to leave the kids in the care of Ms. Higgenbothem. Derek and Casey protest. Derek puts his arm around Casey in an attempt to prove they can get along. They beam at George and Nora.

Later Derek walks right into Casey's room without knocking. He has a plan. They can pretend to get along, just to get their parents out of the house. Casey agrees and there is a cute breakfast scene of the two of them being fake nice as soon as they see George and Nora. We learn here that they normally have an early morning fight. I find this sweet. As soon George and Nora leave the room, Casey and Derek fight, with more touching.

The dance and hug in the scene changes. It is super cute.

George and Nora don't believe them but agree to leave them in the house alone all weekend anyway. They take Marti with them. As soon as they leave, Derek begins to prepare for the party he's throwing. Casey is angry about this, and they fight again.

Derek: "Come on Casey, don't you ever just want to live a little dangerously?" He raises his eyebrows at her suggestively when he says this.

Lizzie and Edwin are frightened. They go into hiding:

Lizzie: I saw this guy touching tongues with this girl. It. was. gross.
Derek: Give it a couple years
*snicker*

The bathroom doorknob is broken, and Derek goes up to try and fix it for the guests. Casey goes up a few minutes later to yell at him for something, and she shuts the bathroom door. They are trapped. They have adorable banter,

Derek: Whoa you need to calm down.
Casey: Calm down?! I hate it when people tell me to calm down! It makes me very tense.- She is holding shampoo threateningly.
Derek: Casey put that down.
Casey: Make me.
Derek: Fine, don't. But prepare to be shampooed.- He picks up another bottle of shampoo
Casey: Go ahead. I've seen your bathroom aim before. No way you hit the target. (I love this line) Then they fight with the shampoo and end up rolling all over each other. Legs intertwined, arms all over each other, it is fantastic. This entire scene is fantastic. It is so Dasey laced that really, to get all the moments I would have to transcribe it. They are trapped in a small space, there is banter, wrestling, and then some affectionate touching. Dasey magic.

Later, George and Nora come home and find the party raging and Derek and Casey still locked in the bathroom. Derek has sold Casey a sob story, about hoe he messes up because people expect him to, and so she takes part of the blame. George and Nora decree that since they're both responsible they both have to clean up the destroyed house. Then they leave.

Derek: you really surprised me. I can't believe *long pause* you bought my sob story. Sucker.- He touches he knee when he says this and leaves her to clean up the living room all on her own.
Casey: What?!

He then leaves her to clean up the living room by herself. The episode ends with her bringing the trash from the party up to his room:

Casey: Derek I cleaned up the living room the least you can do is take out the trash
Derek: Fine.

She then dumps it all over him and walks away, feeling very smug.

Casey: Sucker

Puppy Dog Tails
This is an amazing episode. It opens with Casey standing in the kitchen eating cereal when Derek comes home from hockey. He walks up behind her, pushes his hips into hers causing her to spill her cereal and informs her he,
"Had an assist on the winning goal." (this is the first time we learn of Derek's hockey playing skills)

Later, Casey is complaining to Nora about living with all these men. She recounts a story that is supposed to show how 'gross' living with Derek is, but all it really shows is that he wants her. There is a flashback to her standing in the laundry room when Derek walks in. He wipes his face on a towel and throws it at her.

Casey: ugh you're all sweaty.
Derek: I like the sweaty look chicks dig it- he smirks at her and leans forward when he says this- its so flirty its actually ridiculous.
Casey: No they don't.
Derek: yeah they do.

Fangirl Emily shows up and fawns over him. He smirks, but mostly ignores her, then he leans into Casey, touches her cheek with the back of his(I assume sweaty) hand, and says,
"see." Before walking away.

Casey decides to make some home improvements. She is putting up an ugly ceramic hen when Derek walks in. They fight over the decorations on the mantel.

Derek: what are you doing with my trophy?
Casey: Giving it to you to take to your room. It's tacky.
Derek: No that thing is tacky!(I'm going to have to side with Derek on this one)
Derek: No its folk art!- The fight of course turns physical and they end up breaking both objects.

Derek: I scored twenty goals to get this! (Trying to impress her?)
Casey: Well I went to twenty garage sales to get this!

Casey convinces Nora to redo the living room, they move out the couch and the TV and put up art. The boys come home from Derek's hockey game and are horrified.

George: That couch has history! I had my first kiss on that couch!
Derek: So did I!
Edwin: And I was planning on having my first kiss on that couch!
*snicker*

Derek convinces George to "take a stand." George and Nora fight over the redecoration, and Casey feels bad. She puts a few of the old living room things back. Derek comes and asks what she is doing, he tries to listen, but gets distracted staring her up and down and undressing her with his eyes. He really does. Later they decided to team up with Lizzie and Edwin to fix the old living room and stop George and Nora's fighting. Casey apologizes to Derek.

Casey: I'm sorry, I didn't know these things were such a big deal to you. Girls are different than boys you know.
Derek(smirking of course): Yeah I found that out the fun way, on the old couch.(This is one of everyone's all time favorite Derek lines. Because it is awesome.)

Later after they've put the original furniture, couch and all, back in the living room, Casey and Derek apologize to George and Nora. Well, actually Casey apologizes and then Derek apologizes for her,

"And Dad, Casey shouldn't have told Nora to change things." Casey smacks him(which is probably what he was going for) and he apologizes for real.

Grade Point Average:
This is episode is memorable not so much for what happens in it, but because you can see clips from it in every Dasey video ever made. There are also a couple important canon points established in this one.

We start with Casey begging for extra points on a test. She is a "grade grubber", a nickname that has replaced Klutizila as the student body's Casey insult of choice. Emily tells her she has to do something to change her rep. At home, Derek is getting George to sign a test he's failed. Casey, Nora and the audience learn that Derek failed grade one, but George bailed him out.

Casey: How exactly does one fail grade one?
George: He wouldn't sit down, pay attention or leave the girls alone.
Derek: Good times.

Derek then mocks her for her grade grub reputation.

The scene changes are so cutely shippy, they are holding books and they nudge each other in the first one, while giving each other great looks.

It turns out, Derek needs at least a 90% on his group English project to pass the course. Casey needs to loose her bad reputation. What will they do? The screen splits to show Derek and Casey thinking of each other at the exact same second. Derek struts down the hall towards her and announces they've been assigned to work together. Casey pretends to be annoyed by this. They turn away from each and smile broadly- a shot that is in every video ever made.

That night in the kitchen Casey is making a snack. Derek is asking about the project. She laughs at him.

Derek: You have done something right?
Casey: Yeah I made this sandwich.- then she gives him this smug look and bounces away.

He follows her to the living room still asking about the project and, in a mocking tone she tells him,
"Dude you need to chill- Grab some couch."

Casey announces her plan to Emily the next day at school. Emily is slightly worried that this is unfair to Derek. Casey is not impressed.
"Fair? Yes its fair! think of what he's done to me!" Because again, everything is always about Derek.

Then we get a fantastic scene change where Derek wraps his arms around her waist, begging her to help. She pushes his head away.

That night Casey is trying hard to not work and not care. Derek is freaking out. He's realized Casey is trying to use him to kill her grade grubbing rep. He needs to get her to work on this project. He figures guilt will do the trick. He sends Edwin after Casey.

Edwin: I think Derek is really worried.
Casey: I don't buy it.
Edwin: Come see for yourself.

She goes to the top of the steps and looks down on Derek, and we get another scene that is in every video ever made. A frustrated Derek shoves books off the table and puts his head in his hands.

Derek: I tried and I failed, and now its too late.
Casey: Its not too late, we can still do this.- She smiles at him affectionately, and he gives Edwin, who is watching from the stairway a "good job" look.

The next day, they dress up as a married couple- Percy and Mary Shelly- to give their presentation. They get an 89%, Derek asks Casey if she'll grub one more time. He needs the point to pass the class.

Derek: Can you do this? Please?"
Casey: Ok.. Hold this. She walks in, head held high to save Derek, despite what it will do to her reputation.

Some random guy starts to insult her, and Derek, wearing a cute old fashion hat, holds up a hand and says,

"Not a word." Because when Casey and Derek work together? Good things happen.

The Wedding
Nora's sister, Fiona is getting married. Casey is acting as the wedding planner. Derek will be filming the whole thing.

Edwin: Your dream is to direct?
Derek: Yeah. I'm great at bossing people around.

Nora cautions Casey to please keep her cool around her cousin Vicky, Casey says,

"Don't worry Mom, I can handle Vicky. I'm learning to deal with incredibly obnoxious people," and shoots a pointed look at Derek(because everything in Casey's world relates back to Derek) who says,
"Right back at ya sis." Nora sighs. Fiona frantic and anxious about her upcoming wedding to a man named Harry. She also informs everyone that Vicky likes to be called Victoria now.

Fiona: She gets very cross if you all her Vicky.

Nora ushers Fiona downstairs leaving, Casey, Derek and Edwin in the living room. The doorbell rings, and Edwin runs to get it. Derek slings an arm around Casey's shoulders.

Derek: So what's cousin Vicky like?
Casey: Two words: Major. Pain
Derek: Well if she's related to you she must be a major- he is cut off by Vicky walking in the door- "Babe" he finishes. Vicky smirks. It should be pointed out here, that Vicky and Casey look a like. Not just a like- they could be twins, clones, whatever. Not only that but if Vicky is Casey's cousin that makes her Derek's step cousin. No one however, seems the slightest bit fazed by this fact. Least of all Derek. There is a cute flashback to Casey talking to Paul about how much she hates Vicky.

Casey: There is no one in the world I dislike as much as my cousin Vicky- except Derek of course.
Paul: Of course(the way he says this leads me to believe he is on to her. Paul is such a Dasey shipper)

Vicky flirts with Derek:

Vicky: So you must be the big, bad brother I've been hearing so much about. You're cute."
Derek: You've got good taste.
Vicky: So my mother tells me Casey despises you.(clearly Casey talks about him all the time...so much so that Fiona has told Vicky)
Casey: That's not true.
Derek: Aww and I thought we were so close.

After Vicky leave to go find her mother Derek calls her "Unpleasant, but hot." A somewhat star struck looking Edwin agrees. Casey attempts to avert wedding disaster, but keeps having problems. Meanwhile, Vicky who has clearly both set her sights on Derek and felt the sexual tension between Casey and Derek, tells the boys embarrassing stories from Casey's childhood. They follow her around, filming and Vicky flaunts this fact in front of a stressed out Casey.

Marti is left unsupervised and eats the fake berries out of the flower arrangement(because it's purple day). Derek of course comes to the rescue and gets her to spit them out. It is adorable how good with her he is. Unfortunately she's already eaten too much purple, and starts to feel sick. Casey moves the cake away from her, and bumps into Vicky, spilling the cake all down her dress. Casey and Vicky have a huge fight, which Derek films, looking really, really excited the whole time.

An upset Casey quits her wedding planning work and Vicky has stormed off to her room. Derek is thrilled until Lizzie and Edwin remind him that if he doesn't do some work to fix all the things that have gone wrong with the reception, his movie won't have an ending. Derek distracts Marti perfectly and adorable, and sets Lizzie and Edwin to work making a cake while he calls caters and attempts to make decorations.

Casey wanders downstairs a while later to find Derek trying to glue the word "wedding" over the word "birthday" on a "Happy birthday" banner. This is almost too cute. Casey asks what he's doing. He tells her is trying to save his movie. She's not quite buying it, and seems touched by all the work he's putting in.

Casey: Well whatever the reason- thanks.
Derek: I don't need your appreciation. I need your help.

Derek would like Casey and Vicky to decorate while so he can get the cake out of the oven and Lizzie and Edwin can get dressed. Casey refuses and Derek yells at her. It is priceless:

Derek: Look Casey I have been doing your job, planning a reception for YOUR relatives because you quit and you can't talk to Vicky?
Casey: No. I can't
Derek: DON'T TALK TO ME TALK TO VICKY!

Casey is taken aback by this outburst and goes up to talk to Vicky. The make up, and the audience is reminded once again of just how much Casey and Vicky look a like.

Things work out ok, and later the whole Macdonald-Venturi clan watches Derek's video. It appears to have been a success, they all clap and then everyone but Derek, Casey and Edwin goes to bed. Edwin pipes up that they've missed the kissing scene.

Derek: No we didn't. Its on my extra's reel.
Casey: Kissing scene? You mean Fiona and Harry?
Edwin: No Derek and Vicky.-Derek's expression here is great. He clearly did NOT want Casey to know he was making out with Vicky. Casey looks appalled.

Casey: You and Vicky?! You were kissing my cousin?
Derek: What can I say? Chicks dig directors.- He shrugs. Casey huffs.

Then we actually see the clip of Derek making out with Vicky(Edwin's handiwork). Not Disney channel normal shy kissing, but seriously making out on top of a dryer, her straddling him, his hands on her thighs- his shirt partially unbuttoned. This is relevant because- Vicky looks so much like Casey that Dasey video makers often use this clip to represent Derek and Casey making out. Also, Vicky is his step cousin. The implications of this episode are amazing.

House of Games

This episode carries over the "Godfather" theme from the last episode. It also sets up a Venturi vs. Macdonald dividing line. Which is nice. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of Dasey in this episode. The kids are arguing over "five disputed territories" and play games of chance to win them. Casey rants about all this to Paul, who is SO onto her by this point. The fights are really a Casey VS. Derek thing, but they don't actually interact one-on-one much, making me sad. Edwin is a double agent and Casey and Derek spend trying to out scheme each other. There is a lot of cheating. A lot. At one point Casey says,

"Looks like you under estimated me Derek. I like that. Keep doing it." Which I find cute and flirty. In the end, because he's sneakier than her, Derek and the Venturi's win all the "disputed territories." Casey, knowing she has somehow been cheated, rigs all the items in the bathroom medicine cabinet to fall out on Derek when he pulls out his tooth brush. He looks cutely impressed by her trick.

Marti the Monster

In case it wasn't clear after "Puppy Dog Tails" and "The Wedding" this episode cements once and for all that our Derek? Yeah he's a bit of a player. The episode opens with George and Nora discussing the play they're going to in Stratford that weekend. They need a babysitter for Marti. Nora asks Casey, who is annoyed that Derek wasn't asked. She plays the, "blood sibling" card and rants to anyone who will listen about how unfair it is. Derek smirks at her.

The next day at school Casey complains to Paul, and tries to make it a feminist thing,

Casey: I shouldn't be expected to watch Marti just because I'm a girl!

Paul is too smart for that though and he says,

"It sounds to me that this isn't a girl vs guy thing. This is a Casey vs Derek thing." Like I said, Paul is so onto her.
In the hall later, Emily and Casey watch Derek strike out with the new girl, Sandra. She walks away, and Casey waves at him, smirking at his failure. Later, Casey takes it upon herself to befriend Sandra. Casey and Derek live to mess up each others relationships/romantic prospects and this episode is just the first of many, many times.

At dinner that night, Casey and Derek banter about Sandra.
Casey: She's not your type.
Derek: She is my type- she's hot.
Then depending on which version you're seeing(Disney or Family Channel), they talk about the size of her breasts being the reason Derek likes her.

Edwin: Can we not talk about breasts at dinner?"

Casey reveals that Sandra is a vegan and an environmentalist who loves children and works after school at a daycare center. She tells Derek to,
"Leave the poor girl alone."

Derek of course, doesn't listen and uses the information Casey has told him to get Sandra to come over and "help him baby sit" Marti that Saturday. As she walks away, telling him she'll see him on Saturday, Derek blatantly stares at her ass and says,

"Looking forward to it." (I'm aware this isn't actually a Dasey moment, but Derek is SO dirty right here, it has to be mentioned)

Casey is upset because she's already agreed to watch Marti when Derek offers to do it. She assumes he's in it for the money. They have a competition to see who can get Marti in pajama's first. Derek wins. Casey sulks.

Saturday comes, Derek has sent Lizzie to a friends and is trying to hurry Casey out the door(She's shopping with Emily). By hurrying her, I mean he's touching her. A lot. She shoves him back, and they have a nice physical fight. The doorbell rings and Casey answers it. Its Sandra, who upon seeing Casey(and feeling the sexual tension in the room I'm sure) asks,

"Derek is Casey your girlfriend?"

They deny this of course,

Casey: "No. I'm his new stepsister" and they have another physical fight when Derek tries to get Casey to leave. Casey of course, wants to ruin Derek's chances, so she decides to stay awhile. Derek makes Marti lunch and Sandra, Edwin and Casey look at old family photos. When Derek comes in, she teases him about his childhood long hair,

"Aww you were very pretty."

Later Emily comes over and she and Casey convince Sandra(who by this point sees that Derek used Marti as bait to get her to come over) to go shopping with them. Edwin trails after them because he has fallen in little boy love with Sandra. While they are all gone, Marti plays beauty parlor and 'princess tea party' with Derek. The end result is him in a dress and make up, with butterfly clips in his hair. He is still dressed this way when Casey, Edwin and Sandra come home. Sandra is impressed by how much he loves his little sister, and agrees to go out with him that night. Casey is still trying to ruin his chances.

Casey: Oh. Are you taking Marti with you?
Derek: Casey can I talk to you in the kitchen for a second?
Casey: Anything for a pretty lady (she's called him pretty twice in this episode).

Derek convinces Casey to watch Marti that night, she takes 60% of the profits and Derek heads out with Sandra. Casey spends her night with Marti trying to prove she is more fun than Derek, because everything she does is about Derek. Always. Later, Casey and Marti are asleep and George and Nora come home to find Derek and Sandra in a not-so-Disney channel make out. Much like in "The wedding" his hands are her thighs, and only this time, they're on the couch(where you learn the difference between boys and girls) and one of her legs is in between his legs. Derek then "walks her out." Telling George and Nora not to wait up. Because again, Derek is a player.

Sweet Misery

This is another "Casey Vs. Derek" episode. Derek and Casey are fighting over the remote, as usual, when Casey falls off the couch. Derek makes no effort to save her, instead grabbing the remote. Casey sprains her ankle but is immediately more concerned with how she can use this to get things from Derek than she is with the pain. He promises is her "Anything she wants" if she'll stay quiet to George and Nora about what happened.

They arm wrestle in the scene changes. It is very adorable.

At school, Casey enjoys using her injury to make Derek look bad. Because again, everything is about Derek. She gloats to Paul about this and says, about Derek:

"That worm is gonna squirm."

At home later, Derek pressures Casey to pick something of his to take so they can get it over with. Casey is making a list of possibilities, when she hears that Derek has borrowed $72.50 from Edwin. Casey immediately concludes that Derek must be buying something really good, something he really wants and doesn't want her to have. So of course, that is what Casey decides to take. She sends Lizzie into find the item- White Stripes tickets.

Derek demands she makes a choice, and with glee she pulls out his White Stripes tickets. He has a look of pure horror on his face. Casey smiles triumphantly.

However, Derek is never down for long, and he decides that if HE was to get injured, it would even the score. Edwin sets up an elaborate scheme to make it look like Casey hit Derek with her crutch. It fails miserably. Then later, while the two of them are fighting, as always, Derek trips over Casey's crutches, and falls dramatically, clutching his knee.

He proceeds to make Casey wait on him because he,

"could be out for the entire hockey season. Think of the pain and suffering!"

While they were fighting, Marti has cut up the White Stripes tickets and used them to make a picture. Casey and Derek sprint upstairs when they realize Marti has the tickets, exposing both 'injuries' at the same time. They are sad about their loss of tickets and the fact that Edwin and Lizzie, having caught them running, are upset they were used and are now making Derek and Casey wait on them.

George and Nora come home, they think the kids have been getting along for real and have bought... White Stripes tickets. The catch, is that they are planning on going to this concert WITH Casey and Derek.

Derek: Its my fault Casey sprained her ankle ground me now.
Casey: I made Lizzie spy on Derek. ground me.

Babe Raider

This is Casey/Sam building episode, but since the most interesting thing about the Casey/Sam relationship is Derek's reaction to it, that's mostly what I'm going to discuss. The episode opens with Derek and Edwin playing "Babe Raider." Casey is offended by the CGI heroines lack of clothing and oversized chest.

Casey: That outfit is so tight its ridiculous! How can she move in that?
Derek: I know she should just take it off!

Casey continues to vent until Derek cuts her off with:
"Ooh sounds like somebody's jealous of somebody's double d body armor."

Casey is annoyed so she types a feminist manifesto. It is on pink paper, which just makes me giggle. George bribes Edwin and threatens Derek into following the rules set out by Casey's manifesto. For all Casey's claims about morals, she also gets great deal of joy out of how much her new rules annoy Derek. Its a win/win for her.

Derek has to take down all his posters that 'objectify women' including a thong poster. He is ridiculously sad and pouty about this. Casey has also decreed there is no more playing 'Babe Raider' in the house. Derek vents all this to Sam when he comes over later. Sam goes to get food, holding Casey's manifesto, they meet in the hall and he and Casey talk. He tells her he doesn't mind feminism.

Later, Casey throws this conversation in Derek's face, even though Sam told her not to tell Derek. Derek then takes great joy in showing Casey that all the high scores on "Babe Raider" are held by Sam. He looks ridiculously smug about this, until Casey refers to Sam as, "My Sam," then he just looks all sad and dejected.

Derek makes himself feel better by calling a girl and using lines from Nora's term paper on "The Feminist Manifesto" to get her to go out with him.

That night, Casey sneaks downstairs and with Edwin's help, learns to play "Babe Raider" she loves it, and becomes good at it quickly. The next morning, the rest of the family is out at breakfast, having let Casey sleep in. Sam comes over, and Casey challenges him to a game of "Babe Raider." Derek comes home and interrupts them.

The next morning, Casey comes to breakfast dressed as "Babe Raider" in tight, revealing black. Derek's jaw literally drops. A few minutes later, when he's regained his power out speech, he tries to cover it by saying, "ew." But no one buys it.

The men have a conference in the living room. Derek is furious:
"We can't have offensive material but Casey can DRESS in offensive material?!!" Yeah- I'm convinced that Derek is just really, really annoyed by how hot she looks. I mean really he has a hard enough time not jumping her as it is, and then she had to go do this? There is only so much a fifteen-year-old guy can take.

At school, Casey flaunts her new look. Boys fall all over her, and Emily is puzzled. Derek and Sam come out of a classroom and spot her flirting with about five guys.
Sam: Dude your step sister is-
Derek: Don't you dare finish that sentence!
.
Sam reveals that he played "Babe Raider" with Casey and that she is good. Derek is not a happy boy. Allegedly he is upset about her hypocrisy, and I'm sure that's part of it, but what he says when he pulls her away from her throng of admirers, leads me to believe he is also jealous of the time she spent with Sam.

Derek: "My favorite part is the topless level where babe raider celebrates defeating the evil lord by taking her top off. Now I've never been that far, but Sam has. They don't call him the king of babes for nothing." (Lets take a minute to think about this one-Casey already thinks Derek is a sexiest pig, she's seen his thong poster, so why is it important that he's never been to that level? Why tell her Sam has been there? I'm pretty sure this is actually a super passive aggressive attempt to end Casey's interest in Sam.)

At the end of the episode Casey gives a speech to her "Media studies" class about how video game heroine's should be strong, and fully clothed. Then at home she flirts with Sam a little more, and Lizzie rolls her eyes. Derek is on the phone arranging to go to a woman's march.

Derek: Me and Hundreds of chicks, you do the math.
Edwin: Take me with you!
Derek: Maybe when your voice drops.

All systems no go

It's morning and all the laundry in the dryer had turned pink. Casey is not happy. As it turns out, everything is pink because Derek, who was off swimming in the Davis's pool, put his red shirt in the wash with the whites. Casey freaks out to Nora about this.

Casey: This is ridiculous we need to get it together in this house!
Derek: No you need to get it together. So why don't you and your delicates go take a nice cold rinse. Everything's fine.-He then does a cute shoulder nudge thing as he walks past her.
*smirk*

That night there is chaos at the Macdonald-Venturi house, first we learn neither George or Nora has bought any food for dinner.

Derek: Cool so I'm making my specialty again?(Aww Derek cooks!)
Casey: Macaroni and Cheese? For the third night in a row?! I mean, cool I'm a team player.
Derek: No, you're a big freak.

Then we learn that not only have George and Nora forgotten to shop, they've also forgotten to pick up Lizzie and Edwin at school. Casey is trying ridiculously hard not freak out and take control. Its not working well for her. George and Nora rush off to get Lizzie and Edwin. Derek cooks while Casey checks on Marti- who it turns out has dumped out all Casey's beauty products to "make potions."- Casey looses it. She screams at Nora and goes to her room and slams the door.

The next morning Nora leaves for the weekend, with George promising he can handle everything. Casey is on the phone with Emily complaining about the chaos in the house. A soaking wet Derek walks in to talk to Casey.

Emily: Is that Derek? I was just watching him swim.. I mean I wasn't staring or anything.
Derek: Is that Emily? Can you tell her to like, stop staring at me when I swim? (ok, not Dasey but this is too funny.)

Derek wants Casey to stay out of the living room later since he has a date. Casey rolls her eyes and agrees, asking Emily if they can watch the movie at her house. Emily responds that of course they can- after all her parents will be at Casey's house anyway for the book club. Casey is sure George has no idea so she runs downstairs to tell him. Then, because she is still trying not to control things, she flee's back upstairs.

Casey was right. George had no idea. Derek suggests that call Nora, but her cell phone is sitting on the hall table. George freaks out and insists Derek help him get ready.

Derek: Permission to speak? I think there is somebody who'd be really helpful.

...He is of course thinking of Casey. That's precious.

George and Derek go beg Casey for help, but she refuses.

There is an adorable scene change where Casey ties an apron on Derek's waist.

The gang is in the dining room. Casey comes down to help- but just as part of the team. She's still refusing to take control. Lizzie offers to make cookies, Edwin offers to research the book on the Internet, Marti is given busy work and George puts Casey and Derek in charge of cleaning the living room.

Derek: Me clean?
Casey: Me work with Derek?- Then they sneer at each other cutely.
George: Will that be a problem.
Casey: No its fine with me- Derek?
Derek: Fine with me.

Cleaning of course turns into a shoving match over the vacuum, and then a sword fight with the vacuum cleaner attachments. They then break the vacuum and have to sweep. They're working together well for a minute or so with Casey sweeping and Derek holding the dustpan. Casey, however cannot control her urge to flirt/fight with Derek, and so sweeps the dust into his face. He retaliate by dumping the partially full dustpan over her head. So then they start shoving each other and touching a lot. Again.

George learns nothing about the book. Lizzie puts cream soda in the cookies, and Marti floods the bathroom. Also, because Derek and Casey were too busy falling all over each other to clean, the living room is still a mess. The Davises show up(they've some how magically found Nora too) to find George totally unprepared. Nora has also forgotten the book club. Derek's date- Amy rings the doorbell in the middle of this. She turns out to be the only one in the room who has read the book club book(The English Patient).

Casey: A date of yours reads Adanche?
Derek: *shrug*

Since the Davises didn't read the book either. They all decide to go bowling and leave Derek and his date in charge of watching the kids.

Male code blue
I have to start this out by admitting something. I find this episode really, really weird. It never stops being weird either, no matter how many times I watch it. Before we go into this episode, I want to point out the typical pattern for the "my best friend wants to date my sister!" plot of sitcoms. It's been used before and it always follows the same rules.

The brother always has a very clear reason for not wanting his friend to go out with his sister. Namely that he doesn't what his sister to get hurt and/or played.

The dialogue goes something like this:

Brother: Dude you can't date my sister! She's too young/good/innocent for you.
Friend: What are you saying?
Brother: You treat girls badly/are a player/have a new girlfriend every week/are always horny.
Friend: But I really like your sister. Its different.
Brother: I won't let you hurt my sister.
Sister: I'm not a little girl. I can decide who to hang out with for myself.
Brother: He's bad news!
Sister: He's your best friend! And I really like him.
Brother(softens): Really?
Sister: Yes. So stop being an idiot.
Brother: You better not hurt her- I'll kill you.
Friend: I won't man. I promise.
Brother. Ok then.
Sister: Thank you.

*All laugh*

Yeah this episode of Life with Derek? None of that happens. Not even close. Protecting Casey? Not Derek's motivation. At all. Derek never actually gives a motivation.

We start with the Macdonald-Venturi gang plus Sam eating dinner. Edwin is excited about his crush Molly Moscovich. Derek see's this as an opportunity to try and stop the looks Casey and Sam are giving each other across the table.

Derek: Edwin you gotta play the field a little. I mean you can't just stick with one girl, right Sam?

He gives Sam a great look as he says this. Sam is flustered. Later Marti announces she wants Sam and Casey to "crush each other." Sam chokes on his milk and Derek gives him the dirtiest look ever.

At school the next Casey babbles about Sam to Emily, and then to Paul. When she mentions to Paul that Sam is Derek's best friend, Paul, being a smart man is concerned. Casey claims that Derek doesn't care, but Paul is very doubtful. He is such a Dasey shipper.

At lunch Casey finds Sam alone(Derek is getting some girl to buy him lunch) and sits with him. They talk about hockey and it sounds like Sam is about to ask Casey out- this is when Derek walks in. He sees that Casey is sitting with Sam and looks really, really angry. He interrupts them and makes Casey leave.

She glares at him and shoves her folder into his stomach as she walks away. Derek and Sam then have a very strange conversation.

Sam: I was thinking, since we have to be at the game early tomorrow, is it cool if I crash at your place?
Derek: Sure. You want to catch a movie?
Sam: Yeah... or we could just stay in and hang out.
Derek: looking for some quality couch time with Casey?
Sam: What? why would I want that?
Derek: Dude its obvious.
Sam: oh.
Derek: But its cool, we both know you'd never go for it.
Sam: why would I never go for it?

Derek shoots him a look of disgust and proceeds to explain the "Male Code" and how it says that 'guys can't date their best friend's siblings.' Sam looks like he is about to question this, and Derek shoots him another glare, raises his eyebrows and says:

"Yes step sibs count too."

That evening, Casey tries to flirt with Sam more, and Derek is not happy. Sam gets up to get some food, and Derek tells Casey to,

"Leave my friend alone!" Casey asks why, and Derek lies to her and says Sam isn't in to her, and that she is embarrassing herself. Casey doesn't believe him.

Casey: "I get the feeling you have a problem with this. Well that's too bad." Then she bounces off to go talk to Sam, leaving Derek sitting in his chair, looking very angsty.

Sam is awkward but still very polite to Casey. She is puzzled and tells him he is,

"Treating me just like Derek treats me!" Which, he isn't at all- but anytime Casey is mad at anyone she tells them they are acting like Derek. It's just her default complaint, because she is obsessed with him. Sam tells Casey that he was NOT planning to ask her out, and that he doesn't like in her, 'like that.' Casey is sad.

Derek is of course spying on them from the laundry room. He has this amazing look on his face, and its another shot that shows up A LOT in Dasey videos. He looks sad, guilty, angry, angsty- it is beautiful.

That night at dinner, Casey makes passive aggressive comments in Sam's direction, Derek still looks pissed, and Marti announces she wants Sam to marry Casey. Awkward all around.

The boys go to Derek's room and Sam confesses he does in fact like Casey. Derek looks horrified. Sam asks if girls know about the 'male code' and Derek freaks out about the thought of Sam telling Casey.

Derek: You can NEVER tell a girl about the male code!

They go to play video games and have passive aggressive Casey implied fighting. Derek receives a phone call and Edwin slides down on the couch and makes the following, very weird statement.

Edwin: Derek is acting very un dude like, if he really is your best friend he'd STEP ASIDE and let you and Casey be together.

Step aside?

Sam takes Edwin's advice and starts up the stairs to talk to Casey. Derek is on his way back down the stairs and blocks Sam's way, looking menacing. They fight.

Sam: Seriously Dude let me go.
Derek: Seriously dude just tell me where you're going.
Sam: To talk to Casey.
Derek: Why?
Sam: Well I've thought about what Marti said and I've decided to ask Casey to marry me.
Derek: Can I be the best man?
Sam: Wouldn't have it any other way.
Derek: Welcome to the family 'bro'
Sam: Thanks 'bro'

Then they push each other, and the fight turns into all out wrestling. Casey hears the commotion and comes downstairs. She demands to know what is going on.

Sam: Tell her Derek, Tell her about your stupid male code.
Derek: Wait that's why we're wrestling??-- Which... begs the question- what did Derek THINK they were fighting about?

Sam explains the male code to Casey, who whirls on Derek, furious.

Casey: Why would you do that? Like me liking your best friend is so threatening to you.--- Ummm threatening? Again the wording in this episode is weird. Derek pops his collar up at her and says:

"Don't blame me, Sam listened to me!" Because he is still trying to win. Also, he really doesn't want to be questioned. Casey yells at Sam and then storms upstairs in rage. Sam looks pouty. Derek sighs and looks really upset himself, he sits down next to Sam and tells him to go talk to Casey. Sam protests and Derek cuts him off.

"Go before I find the mind I clearly have lost." Sam heads up stairs, then stops and says

"D- thanks man." Derek nods sadly, and then picks up the remote and flips channels, still looking morose.

Casey and Sam get together, and the episode ends with Casey, Derek and Sam sitting at a table. Derek tells the new couple:

"Ok I can't stop you two from going out. but please no acting boyfriendy-girlyfriendy in front of me. I'd like to not puke in public- and speaking of puking, can whoever is playing footises with me PLEASE stop?" he still looks irritated. Casey and Sam look sheepish. And that? Is how the episode, and the first season end.

Derek has come to watch Casey try out for cheerleading. Note that Max is nowhere to be found.

Allergy Season

He was sitting at his desk while talking to all the other kids...but now that it's time to talk to Casey- he's laying in bed. Of course he is. Because LWD is trying to KILL me.

Things that go bump in the night

They're fighting over a bowl. Playground love.

This just makes me laugh. It amuses me that the milk carton is in French. I don't even know why.

They're all laughing. Derek and Casey are the most amused. They're so adorable. I can't even take it.

They're going to make-out in the kitchen. In front of George. How many times do I have to tell them about this?

Casey, I love you dearly but what are you wearing? I'll forgive you though, because you're just walking into Derek's room. No knocking or anything. I love that- but please- never wear those tights again.

Oh my God. Derek, I told you before about this 'laying on your bed with that look on your face while taking to Casey' thing. It kills me.

He's not listening to me is he?

Oh. That's because he wants her in his bed. Right.

I love this scene. They match and it's super adorable. Also what is Derek is eating? Are those chocolate chip pancakes? I have this thing for the chocolate chip pancakes. I'm going to pretend that they are and that Casey made them for him. It will make me happy.

He's shushing her. Hehehehe.

These car scenes never get old. Amazing. We've had these promo pics for a really long time, and they still make me squee.

They're holding hands. No really- there is no reason for their hands to overlap this much. Or for them to touch for that long. No reason except the overwhelming sexual tension that is.

Casey thinks they should stay home and make out. Ok, not really. But that's the look on her face. Oooh hey do you think 'Covert operation purple fog'= sex game?

Now they're considering running away together. The dented car is a good excuse.

See? Running away. I told you. Ok...they're not.. But still. This is adorable.

What? They totally have to be this close. It's not like there is any extra space under the table. They need to be all pressed up against each other like that.

He's going to buy her a parka so the other penguins don't make fun of her. Which... you know, isn't flirting at all or anything.

Annoying Casey= more important than getting his 'dream girl.' Because-- that's how all step sibling dynamics work. Right? I'm sure this is totally normal.

So he's just walked into her room now. I think Casey is distracted by the pretty shirt too.

See? That's why they're about to make-out. Well ok, they always look they're about a second away from jumping each other- but I'm sure the pretty shirt helped.

Casey loves that he is good with kids. As do I.

A Very Derekus Christmas

Once again with the Derek-is-in-bed-while-talking-to-Casey-thing. That's one of the few things I like about this episode.

Although Derek's tux-tee is cute too. It really is.

You guys... the season is over. It's been amazing.

This episode is getting a lot of mixed reactions, but I have to say- I loved it.

Derek's School of Dating

Dasey: 7.5

Ensemble: 7

Dasey: 7.5
I know this episode hooked up Dally, but I thought it was very Dasey.

Moments and such:

~"That girl over there is all fired up on Chamomile." Oh Derek. You're so obsessed with her.

~Casey seemed rather appalled by the idea of Derek and Sally didn't she?

~"I couldn't care less what happens to Derek." Protesting too much Case?

~"Why play mind games with someone you like? Because you think you have to? Or because you're too scared to be honest? Well Derek which is it???"
....I don't even think I have to explain how Dasey that was. AMAZING. The writers are trying to kill us.

~"Treat them mean to keep them keen?" ...KILLING ME.

~"It might be wrong but does it work..." and then Casey walks in the door?? AWESOME. The camera shots are such love- that's a nice subtle little touch guys. It works to treat them mean, and the second he finishes that line Casey walks in? LOVE.

~Casey's very emotional about this whole Derek and Sally thing- "I was just trying to help!" Oh Casey. We all know you love him.

~Marti knows so much I love her listening to Casey and Nora with that look on her face. She knows Casey loves him.

~I just adore that after George confesses the plan, the only part Derek can focus on is the "Casey in my love life" part.

~"That's not the point. I have a plan and it doesn't involve Casey." Derek honey, you love her. We know.

~So Sally is supposed to be his 'dream girl' but getting to Casey is more important. Always. We saw this in "Derek Undone" too. It's kind of amazing, how much we're supposed to believe he likes Sally, he's pretty willing to throw it all away just to get to Casey.

~He called her 'Case'. Always heartwarming.

~This whole at school scene is love.
Ralph: So how'd it go?
Derek: Great! Casey's face was like *...*
Ralph: What about Sally.
Derek: I didn't see her face.

Of course you didn't Derek. Because Casey is always your focus. I mean really.. that's pretty amazing.

~Then, Casey's anger at Derek, and Amanda's at Ralph- awesome. It was like Derek and Ralph were both getting yelled at by their women. I enjoyed this.

~And the looks Derek was giving her while she yelled at him?? LOVE.

~She made him beg. They crave these moments from each other, these, "you know you need me" moments. It was fun to see the tables turned a little here. She was so excited.

~Casey is way to happy about this whole "no Derek/Sally thing."
"So I guess you'll have to get over it." I know it's supposed to be reverse psychology, but our Casey doesn't lie that well.

~Plus I always enjoy their over involment in each other's love lives. It makes me giggle.

~She was sitting in his chair, and he walked in and leaned over to her and told her to enjoy it. *squee!!* ~~now I need there to be a fanfic about Casey and Derek 'enjoying' his chair~~

~Casey's regret at the end, "what have we done?" was cute.

They're adorable you guys. They really are.

How cute were they? I adored this whole sub plot

~I love that this Michelle is the girl from "It's our Party" nice touch LWD. I'm impressed. Ed was so funny. I love when he said, "Later Gator" Edwin cracks me up.

~Those were some nice jealous looks from Lizzie there. Aww.

~The "guy code".. yes because that worked so well last time Derek tried to employ it?

~I loved that they were drinking juice boxes. I just found it really cute.

~This Michelle is feisty. I like her. I also love that they pay attention to Ed and Liz's love lives with Jamie and Michelle. It's nice.

~They ran downstairs to see if everything was ok because they 'heard Casey gasp'. LOVE.

~"Dr. Liz" awwww.

~I love that she bossed him around. "Do what I say!" you tell him Liz.

~The grandma thing was cute too. Two weeks in a row with cute subplots for them. Aww kids.

Ensemble: 7

Ralph:
I love Ralph so very much. He's amazing. This Amanda didn't seem real bright, but they were sweet. I loved when he talked and he got drum sound effects. The sound effects were all over the place this week.

I liked when she called him Ralphie.
Derek: "I think I'm going to 'Ralphie',". Hey Der Bear. You're not one to talk.

Marti:
Marti is cooler than everyone else. Always. She was waiting on Casey's bed to ask her if she was going to do something bad to Derek. I love her a whole lot.

Sally:
Eh. She's ok. I have to admit, the whole Derek brought her flowers and a candle he couldn't light- that was really cute. I loved when the stereo started playing the wrong song, and the flowers got knocked over. It was all actually really really sweet. Mostly because I love Derek mad crazy amounts but still. I don't mind the Dally thing that much. I really don't.

...I still miss Sheldon and Sam.

Wardrobe: 8
~Have I ever mentioned my love of the Smelly Nellie's uniform?
~Marti's bead necklace was super cute.
~Casey wore a lot of purple, and it was cute on her.
~I really liked Lizzie's book bag. Adorable.
~Mmm that shirt Derek had on for the 'Talk to Casey, go get Sally' day was super, super pretty.
~Mmm that green and brown striped sweater is one of my favorites on Mike.

Call a Social Worker: 6

Oh George and Nora. I liked them a lot. I loved that Derek and Ed called George in for their 'emergency guy meeting.' Really boys? I love George and all... but I'm not sure I'd take dating advice from him.

Nora's attempts to help were sweet too. I like when we see how much she has come to love Derek, Edwin and Marti.

Plus we had this:

Nora: How could tell Derek?
George: Uh he's my son?
Casey: Mom! How could you tell George?
Nora: Uh he's my husband?

It was a nice McDonald/Venturi divide moment. I thought it was really cute.

I loved George reading comics in the garage, and then his bonding with Ed in the prince. So adorable.

Although... they really thought it was a good plan to leave Derek unsupervised to help him get the girl? REALLY George and Nora? Really? Is it really any wonder Derek is the way he is with girls?

WTF?: 7

I hate the timeline for this season. It makes me cry.

Is it just me or was Casey's room rearranged a little? New desk maybe?? Something was different.

Ok, not that I'm objecting, because I loved it, but Derek's focus on Casey really was weird. It reminds me of "Make me no Prom-ises", if we're not supposed to ship Derek and Casey.. if we're supposed to want them with Sally or Max or whoever- then this is just bad story telling. Derek's so 'crazy about' Sally- that he screws up his chances with her just bug Casey? That's weird.

Casey: For the first time in recorded history both Venturi boys are hooked up.

Really? Wasn't Edwin dating Molly Moscovitch in "The Dating Game" when Derek was Dating Kendra thus adding to Casey's 'I'm all alone' angst????

The Rest: 7

I'm in love with the Derek and Lizzie bonding moment in the blue screens. It made me melty.

I love that we got a new set- the Jr. High cafe. Plus- Michelle is a repeat character. I'm very impressed LWD.

Derek did that 'What now?' thing that I love.

"Wink what now? Nudge what?" It's just ADORABLE. I love Mike.

How cute was he walking in singing... and wearing one of my favorite shirts? Aww.

Oooh- "It's his crash course in how to loose a girl in ten minutes'" Is that a pop culture reference LWD? impressive.

Overall: 8.25

I've spoken with Derek and Casey about this in the past, this whole, 'having eye sex with teachers in the room' thing, but they never listen. I guess they just can't go a whole class period without the looks. Oh kids.

Derek and Casey hadn't gazed meaningfuly in like two hours- her operation got in the way. They had better make up for it, by looking even more in love than normal. Amazing plan.

Driving Lessons

This might be my all time favorite Derek outfit. I love it. So very much.

The hallway is filled with sexual tension. One day, he's totally going to just trap her against this wall and kiss her. And then LWD really will be like every Dasey fanfic ever.

Do you see this? The UST? The Banter? That look on Derek's face? GUH. There is nothing I can say to make this any better than it already is.

Actually, this is really good look on Derek too. Mike is trying to kill me. The hot is overwhelming.

I squeed so much. Really, this whole episode felt like they were in a secret relationship, and that is what the sneaking and the 'trying to find out' was all about.

Moments and such:

~How cute was their 'fractions' banter at breakfast.

~Then their little kids-in-love-on-the-playground oatmeal fight? I love it so much. The oatmeal splattered on George!("But Derek started it!")

~They looked at each other and laughed and he brushed her shoulder when George grounded them? Amazing.

~"You mean we could have gone together the whole time?" Yes- because Derek's date unimportant.

~He baited her!! "for a goody like you" the "you'd never do it!" and "You're as edgy as a teddy bear." He wanted her to come with him. He knows her, and he knows when she is baited like that she always goes for it. I love them.

~Then- he sprawled on the bed, and she went over and SHUT THE DOOR.

~She said she was going with him, and he still baited her, 'I didn't invite you," and "You can't handle this plan!" He so wanted her to come. I'm convinced. He knows her so well.

~Then- she did that adorable, adorable bounce thing at him(she only pulls this move out on him- We never saw it at Max or Sam. Interesting isn't it?), and he smirked/smiled-- ahhh! I squeed.(7:16-7:20==LOVE)

~They were sitting really close to each other on the couch weren't they? Both in sweats? How sweet.

~I loved when he kinda 'shut up Casey' brushed her shoulder to stop her Casey babble. Nice.

~They stood up and stripped, and she tried to get him to give her a high five. Awesome.

~She had to climb out the window and down the tree? That's too cute. Derek thinks so too.

~"Covert operation purple fog." She named it. I love it. Very fanfic.

~"You have a lot to learn about living dangerously." So we're back to living dangerously are we? Good.

~She made him a sandwich!! How cute.

~Their fight over his driving is too cute. I love when they fight like an old married couple.

~I like when he says, 'chillz' and then he dragged her away. Hehe.

~Wow they were really close to each other under the table.

~They were playing hide and seek? This whole hide-and-seek thing is SO dirty.

~"Then I'll buy you a parka so the other penguins don't make fun of you." How very flirty.

~He taunted her about the party. Cute.

~There was blue screen love! Sneaking around! Then the whole sneaking them started, and it really, really felt like Liz and Ed where trying to discover their secret relationship.

~"The way we see it, you're a little old for hide and seek" DIRTY.

~"You only wear blue eyeshadow when you want to impress a guy. Why would you wear it when you're grounded." For Derek. Clearly.

~Ed's questioning of Derek was very 'I know you love Casey." It made me smile.

~Then Derek just marches into her room. I love that.

~I love that he didn't make her equally to blame, he didn't try and say she went to too or anything. He does love her.

~He hugged her. How cute- and then he doesn't take his arm away right away. Cute, and I loved that it was a capturing hug- like pulling her into him, which make me think of Summer School Blues, and him capturing her in the hula hoop. Recurring themes are love.

~But what I really loved was the vibe, because it really did feel like Casey and Derek were in a relationship, and everyone else was trying to get them to confess to it. Really- that was feel. Plus, this was another episode that felt like a fanfic.

Lizwin: 7

Super detective Lizzie and Edwin? I think I read a fanfic or 12 like this once. They were too cute, they really were. Their best subplot in awhile.

I already talked about some of it up under Dasey, because their questions sounded so Dasey-aimed, but I liked their banter to each other too.

Ed: The cookie thief then went upstairs
Liz: It was Derek.
Ed: Rookie mistake. That's what the thief wants you to think.
Liz: *points to Derek who is eating a cookie*
Ed:.....oh.

"I told you there was no racoon conspiracy!"

Their whole plot was too cute.

Ensemble: 5

Really, this was pretty much all Derek and Casey all the time. Em was the only non Mc-V in this ep. She was ok. Really though Emily isn't it obvious that she gets her rebellious streak from Derek.

But there was some cute Marti too. I love her a whole lot.

~"can I go or do you want to read with me in front of Nora some more?"

Then of course she caught Derek. She's so onto to Derek and Casey's love. I know it. Oh and also- Sir Monksalot was in this episode, not in a dress or kissing Edwin this week saddly(Random side not- I was rewatching 'The Dating Game' the other night, and sir monksalot is also the Maid of honor in Dimi and Marti's wedding, *smirk*) but he did eat some oatmeal.

Wardrobe: 8
A lot to love here, but I have to deduct points for those ugly legging things Casey had on when the episode started. They bothered me a lot- and also, they didn't match her outfit. Normally i covet Casey's clothes, but those were bad.

Things I did love:
~Ed and Liz's dective coats/hats/magnifying glasses. The hats were tweed. Win.
~Seriously, I love every piece of jewlrey Emily wears.
~I like Marti in George's slippers!
~Ed's fedora makes me happy.
~He also spends this whole episode in Hawaiian shirts, which amuses me.
~Marti's gloves and green knit cap? Love it.
~The matching gray sweats on Derek and Casey. Nice.
~The blue screen 'we're Bonnie and Clyde' sneak off outfits. I like that Casey was in that blonde wig from "Date with Derek."
~I love that blue shirt- Derek had it on in "Sixteen Sparkplugs" too, and, God does Mike look pretty in it. So very pretty. Then he had it tucked in, so you could see the belt and... I could go on, but I'll spare you all.
~They had Marti in purple again, which is nice. I love when they remember things like that.

Call a Social Worker: 4

Nora had a like, three lines. George was ok, he is growing on me. He did tell Derek and Casey he was tired of their bickering, and I loved when they were going to make them breakfast, since they felt bad. Not chocolate chip pancakes though? Those are Derek's favorite!!

Also, I enjoy that "George can't drive" is a recurring theme. It makes me smile.

All and all i really thought, Geora did ok here.

WTF?: 6

Really- he didn't look out his rear view mirror before backing out? No? Oh Derek.

This would have been a good episode for some outdoor shots. But- there were none. Sad. Were they in the garage? Do they have one? Because I thought they shared a driveway with the Davis's? I'm confused.

So- if Ralph could have picked them up, why didn't they do that all along? Were they just hoping for some alone time on the way to the party?

Then you know, the timeline and the car thing again- but *deep breath* I'll ignore it.

The Rest: 8

Them hitting George's new car was funny, and the sneaking was amazing. I liked Casey's knitting at the end, and Derek's little 'test the waters' prank. It all made me laugh.

Overall: 8.5

I loved it. I really, really did. They touched about a million times. There was banter, there was physical fighting, they snuck out, they hugged, it was awesome. The whole vibe just made me smile. They're clearly very much in love, and it's nice to see. I loved how fanfic super sleuth Ed and Liz where- I loved it all.

Allergy season

Sorry I didn't get around to the picspam you guys. I've been busy, and my computer is getting fixed right now, so I'm borrowing my roommates, and I hate to save all those pictures on someone else's computer. Soon though- I promise.

I did however, get to watch this episode thanks to 101cupcakes, who is 12 kinds of awesome. LwD fandom LOVES you.

I'm feeling Casey's pain, I've been sneezing all weekend, so I probably missed some things. I tried though.

This is another episode with out a lot of Dasey screen time, but I still found lots of things to squee about.
The moments list

~"Unlike Derek, who is always 100% himself." She said it like she meant it as an insult, but considering the theme of this episode, I think Casey really respects him for it. So, it made me smile.

~The dinner table, with him rolling his eyes at her 'forgetting' she had the jacket on, and then calling it nauseating- actually calling her in the jacket nauseating? Jealous Derek is awesome.

~So Derek has to not insult anyone for a week? He gets called 'sensitive Derek' I know this part isn't directly Dasey, but I love just how fanfic inspired that was. Wow.

~Casey! Derek read your poetry column, he sabotaged it and every thing!

~She went to him for a ride. D'awwww

~ I loved Derek asking if she was ok- it was sincere.(Mike's delivery of lines like that makes my life) I'm on to him. The terms of the bet were that he'd RESPOND in a sensitive way- not that he'd just ask her how she was. It was like "Dinner Guest." He knows when she is really upset. I love it. Plus, when she asked if it was because he 'had to' or because he 'really cared' and he said 'oh oh the first one' he said it all quickly and unconvincingly. Nice.

~"Sensitive derek is not at liberty to answer that." That was a nice echo to, "The 'be nice clause' prohibits me from speaking," in "Battle of the Bands."

~Reverse psychology thing Derek pulled was nice too. Please, he so doesn't like Max. We've seen several canon moments where he seems to hate him. Plus, I thought he hated her being in his social world? Then again, maybe Derek just likes her in the cheerleading uniform. Don't worry Derek, she'll dance for you in private while wearing a short skirt.

~He told her to change back!!!! I love how Derek knows her better than anyone else does. It's awesome.

~"peppy von happy stock" I LOVE when he does this. It's like, "promy von freakin hiemer" and, "ready mcbooksalot." Its so cute and flirty.

Lizzie:

More Lizzie/Jamie storyline here. Cute, although unresolved. The necklace thing was cute though, as was her brownie baking. Also is it just me, or does Jordan look taller? Maybe we just haven't seen much of her standing lately- but she looked taller. This though:

Casey: *on the phone*"Yes Max, of course, this week is all about you."
Lizzie: "As usual!"

Was awesome!! Lizzie for the win.

I liked her going to Derek though, the Derek-Lizzie bonding always makes me grin.

Edwin:

Oh Ed. I liked how he seemed to be trying to bait Derek.

"It's just that every time I try to squeeze it the only that pops out is a little bit of myself esteem!"

Has she ever been cuter? Oh how I love her. She called George flower man, and asked if he wanted be watered. I love it. Then this:

"Remember when i had the swear jar for when Derek taught me how to say--" And then Derek covered her mouth. That joke felt a little season one to me actually. I loved it.

"Hi sensitive Derek!" awwww

And Oh god- Daphne wasn't speaking to her????? I LOVE IT. Marti is the most amazing thing ever. I love Daphne, maybe even more than Sir Monksalot.

Emily:

Once again, I kind of liked her, but ummm who is this Pete? He is clearly evil, because he's not Sheldon! Sheldon and Emily forever!!!

She seemed supportive of Casey though, and their little jumping moment was cute.

Paul.

I always love him. A lot. He told her the sneezing was pysho-sematic. Nice. I swear, he should get a counselor of the year award. Let's make him one.

Noel:

Yeah. I don't know how I feel about him yet. He's way better than Max, and he seems like a nice guy and all- but no one has the spark between them that Derek and Casey do. It's just hard to match them. You know?

Max.

I actually typed his name in a angry manner. I hate him so very much. I'm so glad they broke up, but seriously, has he ever been more annoying? He was just such an ass.

She did his geography notes? He only gave her his jacket because she was a 'great cheerleader'? That thing when he pointed at her? He just was revolting.

And then:

Casey: I need some time to think
Max: Well I don't!

Seriously- someone tell me there is a deleted scene where Derek KILLS him.

And.. where is Sam? I miss him.

~Emily always such cute jewelry on. I covet it.
~Mike in that pretty brown shirt with the blue hockey sticks.
~Then he was in green, yay. I love Mike in green.
~Marti was looking all adorable in her sweater with the heart.
~Edwin's band-aid. I love it.
~George's shirts, the flowered and the sleeveless? *smirk*

George and Nora did rather well. I liked Nora's talk with Casey, and George did rather well too.

I kind of love that they set Derek up to break. Aww.

WTF?: 7.8

The time line is giving me a migraine you guys. I can't take it anymore.

"You and Max have been going out for four months.".... so it's July?? Casey and Max started going out after the Valentine's Dasy dance- at the latest it was March. We had a specific, CANON time of year there writers!! Don't do this to me.

And ok, when was the musical- clearly these episodes are out of order. Noel and the musical should all have been BEFORE 'Cheerleader Casey'...so what? I'm so confused. After the season wraps we're going to have to try and put these all in some sort of real order.

Also- I looked it up, because I'm a dork, and high school football season in Canada should run September- November, just like in the States, so this episode should be taking place in early November. (Hockey season BTW runs December-March...which totally throws me as far as episodes like "Grade-A Cheater" are concerned)

Seriously, the time line makes me weep.

Oh, and Casey being randomly in and out of uniform. What? Who practices in uniform?

Then of course, all the things Casey quit for Max... ugh. I know it was fixed at the end of the episode, but WOW.

The Rest: 8

Despite the timeline, and the insane amount of Max this is a fun episode. There were some nice "Brady Bunch" squares in the beginning, with them all yelling at Derek. It was amusing.

I LOVED the subplot. All the kids going into see Derek,

"I see you're taking advantage of the 'the open my door policy'" Adorable. I loved his advice to all of them, he told Lizzie to wear a turtleneck. Awesome.

Plus Mike's adorable smile lines were working over time in this sequence, and it made my fangirl self happy.

Oooh and:

"It was the craziest party of the year and all I wanted to do was talk." Oh Derek.

Oh and he said,

'A what now?' which always amuses me. I love when he does that.

Overall: 8

I like it. Not a favorite, but this one is cute. It was funny, and we are FINALLY rid of Max. Thank god.

The season is winding down guys, only two episodes to go...

~I love him watching her too- I know he laughed at her and all, but he couldn't take his eyes off her. Love.

~Casey: The head cheerleader totally has it in for me.
Derek: What a coincidence, I'm dating the head cheerleder.
Casey: *gasp*!
The smug way he said this, and the look of jealously/rage on Casey's face? The camera cuts back and forth to their faces? I LOVE IT.

~Casey: Take it up with your girlfriend!
Derek: what?
Casey: You know Amy the girl you’re only dating to annoy me.

..The writers are trying to KILL ME. He mentions cheerleaders on his list of girls to date, then in the very next sentence points out that Casey is a cheerleader. Seriously?

~Casey is so jealous she can't even say Amy's name. She doesn't think 'oh gee, dating Derek might help Amy hate me less for being with Max-' no, of course not, because what Derek does? Is more important than what Max does.

~So that was Derek's boombox she auditioned with and had in her room? Awww he's secretly supportive. How did she get it? Did she ask to borrow it? Did he make her beg? I want to know! Some one fic it... please?

~He spent his whole date with Amy talking about Casey? Nice.

~I love that he kind of accidentally defended Casey. He doesn't like to hear anyone insult Casey. No one talks to or about her like that.. except you right Derek?

~Derek: What are you teaching him??? Yes, because everything that changes your world at all? Is clearly Casey's fault.

~He looked really impressed at the idea of Casey taking over the squad didn't he? Aww.

~During that pep rally dance? He was totally checking Casey out. I'm on to him.

~Amy broke up with him because he talks about Casey too much. I'm sorry- can we talk about that again? Amy up with him because he TALKED ABOUT CASEY TOO MUCH.

~There were also several mentions of the whole stepsister thing. Nice.

Awesome. I have to admit, sometimes, Ed bugs me, but he was great here. I love when he stands up to Derek.

He bonded with Casey, which was awesome. He helped her with her dancing, and he got to be the mascot, and I loved loved loved this:

"You and I have different talents so deal with it!"

Yay Edwin! I really liked him this week. He and Derek's bonding at the end was sweet too.

Ralph:
I. Love. Ralph.

He was totally checking Casey out. I love it.

Ralph: What line are you gonna use?
Derek: Uhh.. nice shoes?
Ralph: Nice cause I thought your confidence might have been shot after Sally shut you down.

Then:

"So the shoe line works? Can I use it?" And Casey came home and said,

"The high point of my day was when Ralph complimented my shoes."

I died. Too funny. I love Ralph a lot. And then- he just got funnier with his:

"Cheerleader wars WARS WARS!"
and
"I'm just trying to put some pep in this rally"

Then he went to ask out Amy!

Amy:
Amy was kind of ok. I'm not sure why she did her make up like she was 35, but whatever. Plus:

Amy: So you're the infamous Derek.
Derek: You can't believe everything you hear
Amy: Too bad. I was hoping I could. Call me.

DIRTY. She's heard about... Derek's love of making out with his dates on washing machines? What has she heard? I need to know.

The she broke up with him cause he talked about Casey too much. One more Dasey shipper at JS Thompson.

Paul:
I always love Paul.

Casey: She's just so competitive!
Paul: I guess Max really likes competitive women.

...Paul for the win. I love when he calls Casey on her crap. I love that he pointed out how similar they are. I'm sure Derek noticed that too.

Marti:
She didn't have many lines, but I really liked her:

Emily:
She's growing on me again. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised she wasn't all for the Cheerleader Casey thing.

and her sarcastic "umm yay" was great too. She was really supportive though, and I thought that was cool of her. She just let Casey do her thing. I like to think Em is on to the Dasey too- and is letting Casey work through it in her own way.

Max:
I hate him. You know what guys? I can't even waste the review space on him. He didn't do a single good thing, and everything he said pissed me off. I'm just going to ignore him and move on.

Wardrobe: 4
~Ummm.. I have to deduct some points for those cheerleading uniforms. Ick. Wow. Although, Derek seemed to enjoy it on Casey. But seriously- those skirts were super shortm and then with the long sleeves, and the random midriff revealing? They just didn't work for me at all.
Things I did love:
~Derek's pretty brown shirt with the light blue crossed hockey sticks on it.
~Marti was in purple again.
~Was that Edwin's "Edweirdo" cape? Awesome.

Actually, Nora had like two lines, and George? George was a really good Dad here. His support of Edwin was great. I have to say, I was impressed. I like George. I really do.

Erm.. not that I didn't enjoy the pep rally scene and the Edwin bonding with Casey and Derek but can she really just bring him to the high school to be in the pep rally? Wasn't it in the middle of the day? Doesn't he have class?

Also.. what the hell days of the week did this take place on? How long were Derek and Amy a couple? When did they go on the date? Was it the weekend at some point? I'm baffled.

The Rest: 7
Social climbing Casey is interesting to watch. I always think this is the reason she is still with Max. Max is a status symbol for her, much like prom queen and being a cheerleader. There is really no other reason for him to still be around.

Plus, I prefer perky Casey to super neurotic Casey.

Derek was funny, and we had lots of dirty moments. I enjoy this. I liked his

"There is no me and Sally thing." Nice.

Although-- where is Sam? I miss him. I miss Sheldon too.

Another good one. I love the third seaon. The story arc is really jumping out now, at least to me. Derek's growing love of Casey, Casey's social climbing and denial of her own obvious feeling for Casey... oh it warms my heart. It really does.

Plus this one made me laugh out loud several times.

Next week should be "Show Off Tune" which we've already seen, and I assume Disney is showing, "Rumor mill" Some time in the next few days, so it will be a couple weeks before I have something new to review. I might get to more picspam. Possibly.

Driving Lessons. (and some news)

A few quick things before I get started:

1. Speaking of my love for you guys- would anybody be willing to tinker with my layout over here a little for me? I love my header banner, and I try to make it pretty, but I always feel like it's not. I'm not very good with that sort of thing, so if anyone wants to help out, that would be really cool.

2. I've added a new category again, to show my love for the LWD wardrobe people. Seriously, I love it all so much. One of these days, if I get the caps for it, I'm going to make a picspam of all the reasons why I love them so much- but I'll need caps from somewhere that's not Seater-Online(Because..things like Marti's fuzzy purple scarf? Win.)

3. And, I'm not sure if you guys have noticed but lately i've been using the lizwin category as kinda of a Lizzie's Part/Edwin's Part review, which I plan to keep doing. Not that I won't include moments if we get them, but we get them doing cool things separate a lot too- and that section is where it will go.

Ok. Anyway- on to the episode. I loved this one a lot. It melted me into a fangirl puddle.

They were so flirty. And the looks they gave each other? Gah. Plus single girl Casey was back on the scene here. Max who? Moments and such:

~Casey: Maybe if Derek didnt' drive so recklessly.
Derek: I do not drive recklessly- I drive confidently.
Nice banter kids.
~Didnt' this whole "girls can't drive. yes they can. let's bet" thing happen in an episode of the Brady Bunch once? *insert obvious Greg/Marsha joke here* Just saying.
~This whole scene is room is magical. I loved it. So much flirting and glancing.
~Derek: This is driving simulation apparatus designed to improve hand eye coordination.
Man, she has rubbed off on him.
~Driving is in the Male DNA? Really Derek? Kinda like math?
~I love their 'deficient' banter and the fact that he follows her out of his room to keep fighting with her. Gah.
~She called him "D".
~Ok the sexual tension when they were making that bet? Seriously I don't know how they stand it, it makes me jumpy LOOKING at them- all leaning into each other and raised eyebrows and smirking-
~The looks he gives her as she walks away? And that little thing he did with his mouth? Oh yes. Derek is feeling the sexual tension too.
~I love how as soon as they bet, Casey always talks about taking her drivers test as, "beating Derek". Oh Casey, when will you see what your one track mind means?
~He spied on her freaking out to Liz, then taunted her with more 'girls can't drive' insults to get her to up the bet. Oh I love them.
~Casey: One small step for womankind, one giant step back for Derek-kind. Because- don't forget, everything is always about Derek.
~She was going to go out and celebrate her victory- over Derek. How very Cruel Intentions.
~Casey's outrage when she came home and found George and Derek racing RC cars was awesome.
~Derek: Isn't it funny how even when I loose I still win? I loved this line.
~That whole fake car thing was adorable, i loved how often they touched and glanced, and then when she rolled after him? Awesome.
~I like that her advice wins- this is a nice balance and I'm impressed. It's a really cool counter episode to "Don't take a tip from me," this time Derek assumed he'd be awesome and ended up having to do it Casey's way. I like that.
~He can hug Olga? Oh Derek. Your refusual to hug Casey just comes off as more a 'fear of getting to close because you love her' thing every episode.
~Aww they toasted.
~Casey: He Drives me crazy!

Lizwin: 4
You know, they haven't actually had their own subplot in awhile. This was another episode where the main and the sub collided until there was really only one plot, which in this case cut down the Lizzie and Edwin lines.

I enjoyed Edwin's racing with Derek, and I love love love that he bowls. He didn't get a whole lot to do though.

I liked that Lizzie accepted the increase in the bet for Casey. That amused me, I like fiesty Liz. She goes to an awful lot of parties though doesn't she? Wow.

Ensemble: 8
Ralph was in this episode and he was awesome. He always is but he was just too cute here.

Ralph: I told you my line would work!
Derek: Your line? you mean, "Derek has a car?"
Ralph: Exactly, worked like a charm huh?

hehehe. Also, ok every time they mentioned those twins(who by the way- why did they match? This irked me. A lot.), all I could think of was Drake and Josh(and this is the last pop culture reference I'll make in this review. I promise), so all could hear in my head was:

"Twins."
"Two of them"
"Similar"

And:

"I wanted to kiss a twin"
"Oh we all wanna kiss twins."

And that amused me. A lot.

I liked Emily this week too, and when she took Ralph to the nurse it made me smile. I like to see their friends getting along with each other- it's almost like their friend groups have totally merged at this point, and I enjoy that.

Marti was beyond awesome this week.

"I heard you drive restlessly!" awwwww. I love her. And then, he learned to do it Casey's way- for Marti. That's so cute I almost can't take it. Seriously, my fangirl heart just melted. Also- is it sad that when I was watching that Casey and George in the kitchen scene I was like, "Is that Sir Monksalot in a tutu behind him?"... and it was.

Also- this was a Max free episode, which is awesome. He really should have at least been mentioned, and he wasn't at all. She didn't even call him to tell him she passed? No? Ok then. Casey was all single girl Casey:

"I was going to make victory laps with Emily and wave at cute boys."

...Really Casey?

But- Paul totally should have been in this episode. And Sam. And Sheldon. I kind of love the supporting LWD cast.

Things I adored:
~Dereks' 'video game hat'
~Edwin's bowling shirt- it was pale blue with his name on it. So awesome.
~Derek's aviator shades(from A Very Derekus Christmas) and Hoodie combo while driving. I enjoyed that hoodie- a lot.
~Derek's belt. Nice.
~Marti's fuzzy purple hat and scarf combo that i'm pretty sure we've seen at least once before. Adorable.

Call a Social Worker: 6
Sometimes, George and Nora's parenting annoys me, but this week? Yeah it was less than stellar, but it was just so cute, I can't fault them. It made me laugh.

Nora:
She called Edwin- Derek JR. That was awesome. Her anger at George was cute too. I do enjoy the Geora relationship. She calls him Georgie and it warms my heart.

And how cute is pancake cake? are those chocolate chip pancakes? those are Derek's favorites you know.

George:
Oh George. You kill me, you do, but hitting a police car? Unpaid tickets? That's actually just really funny. I loved Derek's reaction too-

"What did you do"..... "Oh... Dad."

Hehe. Then- driving RC cars with Derek, they were racing, how cute. I like George and Derek bonding because they're just such... men. I kind of like that "George can't drive" is a running LWD theme, from Season 1 and everything. Nice.

He was helpless, he was, but he was so sweetly helpless, I just can't hold it against him.

WTF?: 5

Yeah not that I mind, but it really is weird that Max was missing.

"A woman of her gender???” say what Derek??? That doesn't mean anything.

Also- um ok that transition to the next morning when Marti was taking to Derek? That was bizarre. It really was.

So really- again with the 'only one car' thing? Really? I have the same complaints about this now as I did in "Sixteen Sparkplugs". It's off. How do George and Nora get to work? Also umm.. at the beginning of the episode, Nora had just come in with Lizzie and Edwin- and then George came home with Marti....so how? If Derek's car(the prince! *smirk) was 'collecting dust'..how is that possible. Oh LwD. You kill me.

And i still want to know why those twins matched.

The Rest: 7
This episode made me laugh, a lot. It's my favorite in a while. And you guys-- they were outside. OUTSIDE. I saw it. There were trees.. and sunlight! I thought it would never happen.

Also, the fake car? Adorable? Derek's Fuzzy dice in the test car? Love. Olga and her accent and Casey's 'you are real?' Nice.

There were just some great lines too like:

"Crash test Georgie!" *giggle*

Oh and:

Derek checking himself out in the rear view mirror and going, "looking good eh?" and winking. I loved that.

Flirty Derek and Casey, betting, Ralph and Em, George's helplessness, Smerek/Smarti bonding? Yeah this one is a win from me. I smiled from beginning to end. This episode is one of those episodes I love LWD for.

I loved it.

I actually watched this on Saturday, but like I told a couple people, I haven't been feeling well, and I was just unmotivated to do this. Sorry. Less long winded then usual, because i'm still kinda tired and sore and blah.

So, I gotta say, I found them both.. unlikable in this episode. I have a really high tolerance for crappy Derek behavior, but not this week. This week I was not happy. That said, this episode did have it's moments:
~Their opening banter with oxymoron and 'what did you call me?' was cute.
~Derek sent Ed to spy on her party planning. I so called this last week. Derek sent him to ruin her private time with Max. As far as I'm concerned it's now canon.
~Casey: Thanks Derek
Derek: My pleasure *raises eyebrows* really. - Seriously? That's dirty.
~He has to save Casey from herself. Yes.. he really does.
~I'm on to Derek(or dasey warped, whatever)- he so felt bad for her.
~Life without Derek is worse than Life with Derek huh? That's SO fanfic. Wow this is like every week now with the fanfic references. Seriously, I know there is at least on fic where Casey wishes there was no Derek in her life.
~I loved when she woke up to see him, and he smirked and went, "happy to see me?" awesome.
~The video was cute, and hey, her party did have a banner of her up. That's like caring.
~Yay. He interrupted their kiss. Ha.
~The end was cute, he likes her fiesty.
But... he was an ass and she was more neurotic than usual. Bah.

Lizwin: 4.
I'm not sure they interacted much? But I enjoyed Derek sending Ed to spy, and when Liz yelled and Derek? That was awesome. They weren't in the episode a lot, but when they were? I enjoyed them.

Because Paul was a genie. Really- it was awesome. Paul is awesome. I don't think I even need to tell you how cool it was.

Also? I love Marti insane amounts. She had her little visor and her notebook for the meeting? I love it.

Emily was ok. I mean, she went along with Derek and all but she does seem to care about Casey, which you know, is more than I can say for Max. Emily can really irk me at times, but I liked her this week. Mostly.

Can someone explain Max to me? Really- we can't actually be expected to ship Masey can we? I mean he's just horrible and he gets worse every week. It's terrible. He went a long with the Derek party thing, and then, even after he learned she was in the hospital, he went:

"Derek does throw a mean party." I HATE YOU SO MUCH MAX.

Then- the whole, "Congratulations on the birth of your twins" card? So.. he hadn't bought her a card beforehand? And a monkey? The man has been in the doghouse for the past few weeks, and so on her birthday, which he KNOWS is a big deal to her, he buys her a stuffed animal and a crappy card? Worst. Boyfriend. Ever.

Oh. Oh Oh and Casey's whole:

"Oh it's not your fault. I blame Derek for the party!" What? He has no mind of his own at all? He couldn't have said no? Is he that stupid or is Derek just that good? Really- why does she always let him off the hook????

God.

One again I thought they did rather well. Although, ok I have to say really- George could have forbid Derek to go to the party. Really, he could have.

Casey has 6 friends? Really? Who? And how come none of these other friends where involved in the party planning?

Why did Max and Derek have to 'sneak' in? Derek is "family"... and it's not like she's in ICU she's probably allowed visitors. I was so puzzled. Also.. where did Derek get the scrubs?

And ok, I know we covered this already- but really- Max needs to GO AWAY. I can't take it anymore.

The Rest: 6
Paul was a genie- i know we covered it already, but it was a high point of the episode. Plus, Mike was looking really good in that green shirt he had on in those first scenes. Also- I liked Casey's "Ed as Derek" Dream sequence. Very adorable.

Oh- and that whole Derek ordered Ed to go to her planning meeting thing. I liked that. Obviously.

Overall: 7
It had it's moments, it did, but it's just not a favorite of mine. Casey really got on my last nerve, and Derek's 'don't care' was a little too much for me. But then again, my head is all fuzzy from too much DayQuil- so what do I know?

Ok, so I actually really liked this one.
Moments:
~I'm sorry, so 'hitting on the arm,' and 'poking' are signs of affection? Really LWD writers? Have you watched the way you have Derek and Casey interact?
~How awesome was Derek at dinner? Max opens his mouth to talk about football and Derek totally cuts him down.
"Football is a game of brute force"
"Hockey players have technique," (I'll be they do. *smirk)
"Football players are like cows."
Wow Derek. Jealous much?
~I like that he burped because annoying Casey is more important than impressing Sally. Nice Derek.
~They both poured cereal on Edwin. They're so alike. Aww.
~She was provoked to throw desert at him? Why didn't we get to see that? That's awesome.
~Umm, Casey, honey? Why is the fact they everyone loved Sally at all relevant? Oh, Right. It's because DEREK is always relevant.
~Split screen Derek and Casey love. YES! They've been doing that a lot lately.
~So Derek tells Sam he wants to move on, and at that second CASEY appears on the screen? They're trying to kill me. The LWD writers are trying to kill me.
~That end table thing? Guh. I love that they're sitting behind everyone else- like the back row at the movies?
~ Derek: What did Max think of the family?

The looks they give each other, the smirks and the smiles.. how cute was that? Iove it.

This is the most interaction they've had in awhile. I like it.
~I like that Casey called Lizzie to get rid of Ed, and I love that she dragged him out. Lizzie beating up Edwin always amuses me.
~I like that she told him not to flirt with Sally. How fanfic is that?
~I felt so bad for Liz though, this was another 'Lizzie gets sucked into Casey's drama' episode, and I always feel bad. Casey is such a drama queen- but we'll get to that.
~What was up with the 'Ed watching Casey and Max thing?' I mean, lord knows it's not really George and Nora's rule- Derek has girls in his room and no one cares, and it seems off that Edwin cares that much- Oh oh oh- Do you think it was Derek? Sending Ed to spy on/ruin moments between Casey and Max? I love it. That's the reason now. I've decided.
~Overall though, I really enjoyed both Lizzie and Edwin in this episode.

Sam
I love Sam these days. I really do. How cute were they playing locker basketball and talking about signals?
Plus I loved Derek's comment about "Patrick the Muscle man." Gotta love those Clark boy biceps.
That and when he called, and he said 'hi' to Casey? I liked that too. I just love Sam. I want to hug him.

Paul
Anytime Paul is in an episode, it makes for a better episode. I'm convinced. I liked this scene, I love when he just laughs at Casey. Really, the fact that he hasn't smacked her yet? That man has more patience than I do.
Plus: "The people that live at my house? They're not well!" That was funny.

Marti:
Her quizzing of Max was too cute. She seems to hate him. I like that. I kinda wish there had been some Smerek/Smarti bonding, but you can't have everything.

Sally:
I gotta say, Sally still kinda bores me. I mean, I don't dislike her, but she's very stereotypical, 'not typical' you know? "I burp at the table, I cook stir fry I'm Sally' *yawn* whatever. Plus, she so was giving mixed signals, and then getting mad at Derek for flirting? Ugh. Whatever. More on the Derek/Sally thing in a minute though..

Max:
You know, I keep waiting for Max to do something, anything redeeming, but he never does. I hate him more with every episode. Why does Casey put up with his crap? Seriously he's TERRIBLE.

The eating dinner at her house thing, we've all mentioned it before the fact that he hasn't ever eaten with the Mcdonald-Venturi's, when everyone else does? I thought the writers were just being lazy about Max placement, but it turns out, Max is even crappier than I thought.

He asked Marti if Casey was there. He's so stupid. Then the whole charades thing? Ugh. Max you're such an ass,

"Honestly I kinda hate that game," EW.

Then ok his whole weak explanation of being 'shy' and feeling 'lame' around the Mc-V's? Oh. Shut. Up. Don't even get me started on the 'circus' thing. UGH.

"You're not lame, you're captain of the football team!" WHAT? Does Max real have no other qualities besides being football captain? Do we know anything else about him? Ugh.

I thought George and Nora were really cute actually. I loved that she called his band back together for him, and there was some nice Nora and Edwin bonding, which I like seeing.

I only have two complaints- one, why do that cater to Casey's "Max paranoia" like that? Seriously? A special meal? Kendra, Sam, Trevor, hell even Scott, all ate dinner with Mcdonald-Venturi's and nothing special had to be done. Georga and Nora seem willing to feed anyone- which I love, but why the special treatment to Max? Don't encorage Casey's neurotic behavior!

Plus, I love that Derek and can just walk down the stairs with a girl and George and Nora are unfazed. Sigh.

But again, as a whole I liked Georga here. Adorable.

WTF?: 6
Ok so, how come Derek and Sally always work together? Is it cause Derek makes the schedule? Are there no other staff members?

Also the timeline makes me cry. I don't know what I bother to trying and make it work, because it just never does.

And seriously- everyone needs to stop indulding this Max thing. He and Casey have NOTHING in common, and he's the worst boyfriend ever. I can't take it anymore.

Ok. He was so awesome. I love Derek a lot. He was just all kinds of amazing in this episode. I liked his bossing Edwin around- it's just so him. I mean, I love good big brother Derek, but it amuses me to see him order Ed to make him breakfast ~~and spy on Casey~~.

I loved his 'cool guy' thing, his unaffected 'whatever Sally' attitude was nice. I loved those girls giggling at him and calling him cute. ~~I I want Derek to be my waiter~~

But Ok this?

*kisses Sally*
"Right just friends..." and then he smirked and strutted out.

That was made of awesome. I mean it's not like I want Derek and Sally together or anything, but that was so amazing. Derek for the win. Really. I loved it.

(although come on Derek, I bet Sam plays charades!)

Casey
Casey on the other hand? Irked me. She's so melodramatic! Why does she keep taking Max back? WHY?

Also:

Lizzie: We're not that terrible are we?
Casey: Yes!

No. No they're not. As much as I bitch about Geora parenting, I love the Mcdonald-Venturi's. I really do. They're fun and loving and totally willing to feed their children's random friends. Plus it may just be that I' the oldest of four, but their meals never seem that chaotic to me. Not at all circus like.

I liked this one. It made me laugh several times, and like I said I loved the "Get George in the Jungle" back together subplot. It was adorable. Plus, Derek was awesome, and Sam had several lines. I like it.

It's being aired at 3/2 central on Monday(gee thanks Disney), and I won't be home then. So I watched on youtube. I have to say- I really liked this one. I mean, its not Summer School Blues- but it made me smile.

Ok so this is another one of those, 'ridiculously involved in each others love lives' episodes. Which I always enjoy.
Moments
~It might not have been a real moment, but it made me grin when she rolled over and off of her bed, and then it cut to him rolling over in bed. It reminded me of one those movies with the split screen couples- When Harry Met Sally style- you know? It's reaching, I know, but i liked it.
~"Well why don’t you just sleep on the floor cause nobody cares about you?" Yes Derek- way to just randomly insult her when it wasn't really relevant to the conversation at all. It's like he was thinking dirty thoughts about her coming to sleep in his room- and then to stop himself he had to insult her. It was so random.
~Yes! I love when they talk through their wall. I have a thing for that wall that connects their rooms. Also I like that he never misses a chance to prank her-setting her alarm. Nice.
~She woke up yelling Derek's name. Hehe.
~ He walked into class and taunted her. Of course. Nice.
~ He looked so pleased at the chance to mess with her in class. (although when he had time to finish his test I have no idea.. but i'll save that rant for later) He leaned over and beamed
~He covered her in post-its. He seemed to have a whole stack of them on him, maybe he does carry them at all times, and post-its!. Sorry- I'm done connecting the episode to my own fanfiction now. But seriously, i was excited. It was adorable though-he loves to bug her. I enjoy that.
~She threw the airplane at him and said, "Derek Airlines?" and he said:
"Thank you for flying with us today"......*smirk* that's dirty right? It's not just me? Flying Derek airlines? hehehe
~"Morning sleepyhead" Come on- seriously Max is the worst boyfriend ever?
~There was a 'Max is a terrible boyfriend' montage. I love it.
~"I shouldn't be mad at Derek for doing what he always does" Oh Casey he does it cause he loves you.
~She'd like Max to defend her honor...from Derek? Is Derek going to... take her honor? Seriously LwD writers you're killing me here.
~She just walks into Derek's room, in PJ's and sits on his bed.
~He has a whole list of new material he'd love to try- on the "Casey" file on his computer?
~I love that she tried to confide in him, and he tried to pretend he wasn't listening, only he clearly was.
~Derek, did you really stay up all night thinking about Casey? Really now? Do you do that often?
~He decided the best plan of action was to do nothing? he knows her so well doesn't he? Also- come on did Casey really think he'd help her relationship with Max? He clearly has no intention of helping her give Max another chance. He'd like them to break up. Hehe.
~She dragged him off- she's more physical with him than she is with Max. Good job Casey.
~Derek looks really pleased about the idea of Casey and Max breaking up. You and me both Derek.
~I'm sorry- was he SPYING on them? He was spying on Casey and Max and he ruined their moment by spraying her with silly string. That was made of win.

Lizwin: erm.. 3

Did Jordan have any lines in this episode? Seriously? Edwin was cute though. I liked that he didn't want to tell them about the leak in his ceiling- and his fighting with Casey was cute too. We don't see Casey and Edwin interact much, so that was nice.

Ensemble: 6
Paul was in this episode, which always makes me happy. He laughed at her neurotic moments too- I like that. Paul is a favorite of mine.

Emily showed up too- although she defended Max because, even though he's a jerk he ,'looks the part' of a knight in shining armor?(are knights orange wax figures? really?) Yes. Good advice. Stay with him because he's hot. Whatever Em. I can never decide if I like you or not.

I always miss Sam, Ralph and Sheldon when they're not around. So that made me sad.

Max is really just the worst boyfriend ever. He's so useless, and he and Casey have no chemistry. They shared another one of their sad little peck kisses in this episode. Seriously I never thought I'd miss Sam and Casey's relationship, but at least they were affectionate. You know? I actually believed Sam and Casey liked each other-Casey and Max? Not so much. Whatever. I mean Casey called him "Classless" in this episode- that says it all doesn't it?

Actually George and Nora didn't annoy me at all here. I mean, ok I would have preferred if George wasn't fixing the leaking roof at midnight on a school night- but, whatever. I'll take it. They were kinda cute actually with their 'man of the house' banter.

WTF?: 6
Umm ok, not that I didn't enjoy Derek decorating her in paper, because I did, but seriously no one woke her up? Not even the teacher? That's just.. off. Also- she gets to take a retest? Something is wrong with that.

Also I love how Derek and Casey are in all the same classes. Either Casey isn't as smart as she pretends to be or Derek ..tests well and is in high classes? something? Or it's a plot device. But still- they seem to have EVERY class together.

Yeah, so was I the only one who didnt' know the stage was in their cafeteria? I was thrown by that.

The Rest: 8
How cute was Marti? Her stuffed animals made me giggle, they took over Casey's whole bed. Hehe. I liked how indignant she was about them too. Plus, I really did enjoy the Edwin and Casey fighting. Cute. Although I had to wonder why neither of them thought to go sleep in Marti's bed?

Also- I find the choice of lit Derek and Casey study to be really interesting- There's the Percy and Mary Shelley thing in "Grade point Average"-I'm not going to go into their whole lives here, because its long and complicated but i'd reccomend can wikipedia'ing them- because WOW did they have a crazy relationship- with all sorts of non traditional, unconventional, scandalous things going on. And Derek and Casey dress as them.

Now we've got Ivanhoe- in which the Hero falls in love with and marries his father's ward. (A ward is someone under the care of someone else, like an adopted child, a foster kid.. something like that). Casey finds this all very romantic. Hmmmm....

Like i said, I liked this one. It's cute, it's very classic LwD. Pranks and banter and Paul and over involvement in each other's love lives. It made me giggle.

Oh how much did I love this episode? Not just moments and lines, but the whole mid plot? Love. We'll do moments first-

Moments

~He called her "promy von freakenheimer" hehehe.
~This exchange:
Casey: Do I really look that bad?
Derek: Do you really care what I think?
At some point, Mike decided to deliver all lines like that with a touch of saddness('honestly i'm suprised you had anything to do with this'). I love this. It just makes my- he loves her but is afraid to act on it theory. Oh Derek.
~Now- I'm really not sure this is Derek's fault at all his whole, 'things were going down hill long before i got there' I'm going to have to agree with him on this one. But- whatever.
~He's come to take her to prom. I'm sorry- I need to repeat that- Derek has come to take her to prom. Again with the delivery.
~My favorite? The look on his face when he is watching her unzip the dress?? He. loves. her. I actually squeed.
~"Hurry up cinderella before the clock strikes 12" awwwww. I love this whole Cinderella theme that goes on- Derek as coachman. The mice. So cute.
~"Now the drama queen is the prom queen, who would have thought?" Oh Derek.

But what I love about this episode is the fact that this whole 'get casey back to prom' thing required DEREK. Why not Max-the world's worst boyfriend? This is some nice character development(Dasey arch)- season one Derek would never have left prom, a prom he's at with the girl he has a crush on, to go save Casey's night. I mean really, it's NOT his fault- he would have made Max go. Really, Max should go as the boyfriend. Plus, Max doesn't have to leave anyone, Derek has to leave SALLY to go. His protests are weak- and again, he tells he her has come to take her to prom then the wat he watches her open the dress? He loves her. This feeds into the love in "Summer School Blues" nicely.

Lizwin: 5.

How cute where they? I love Lizzie a whole lot. They weren't in this episode a lot- but they had their moments.

Lizzie will be quiet for anything with Nougut? Oh Liz. Edwin's stashing candy was cute too.

I loved that they needed their stuffed animals too.

I wish Sam and Ralph had been in this episode. Paul would have been nice too. Sheldon was in it though, and he was AMAZING. I love Sheldon SO MUCH.

The Shemily just made me all warm and fuzzy. They could not have been any cuter, from their talking and kissing, to the slow close dancing at the end. Warm and Fuzzy.

But- Sheldon can't leave. No. No. No. Sheldon is amazing.

Max is NOT amazing.

I hate him. He is seriously the worst boyfriend ever. He just leaves her? How is he going to go to prom with out her? what the hell?

Plus, Casey and Max still have no chemistry at all. The whole fairy tale theme of this episode is like their whole relationshi. Casey wants her fairy tale magical fantasy night- and Max is the guy for that. Their relationship isn't real. Real is Derek and Casey.

Also I still have feelings about Sally one way or the other. Derek and Sally don't have much chemistry either- really, watching them together in this episode is just, eh. *Shrug*.

I'd like that Derek was all anti-prom for awhile. I guess taking three girls last year wore him out? He's promed out?

Also, I loved the scene changes with Marti as Cinderella. So cute. Plus, Marti was adorable.

Marti is awesome.

You know, I'm just going to let the whole, 'junior prom' thing go. I'm just going to take a deep breath and move on. I'm also going to ignore the whole, the drama department just happened to have clothing, perfect clothing in Casey and Max's size. TV magic or whatever. I'll ignore it.

So that I can focus on.. Casey as prom queen?? What? How is Casey prom queen? Grade grubbing, klutzilla Casey? as Prom Queen? This makes me cry a little. I Don't understand.

Also- I love how in every TV show, Movie and book about high school ever, you can just show up at proms. That's SO not how it works. You can't just decide to go to prom. Whatever. That's just the laws of fictional high schools though.

I like this one. It's super cute. We got Shemily, we got Max as a total jerk, we got adorable Dasey. We got some cute Lizwin, great Marti lines- all in all- this is a good one.

This episode irked me a lot. Plus, its snowing here and my wrist is killing me. So ranty review, caps, some swearing. Sorry.

Eh. Well first of all, it took until 5:20 for them even to be on screen together.

I did enjoy Casey's constantly referring to him.

~"The only good thing about this holiday is that it's still Derek free."

And ok their fight, was kinda banterish. I mean ok it was a low blow on Derek's part, but he did warn her. And ok what is up with Max angst anyway? She is annoying about it. Whatever.

This was cute though:

"Go away Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and Casey."

Hehe. But- yeah not a lot to work with here, because they were onscreen together for all of about 4 seconds, and I can't score that. Whatever.

Lizwin: 6

They weren't on screen much together either but they had there moments. Plus I loved this:

Casey: Whine and plead blah blah wave of max despair let me have your room
Lizzie: Ok.. oh and just so you know... Derek's home.

Hehe. Nice Lizzie. Nice. I enjoy anytime Lizzie or Edwin strike back against the Dasey powers. I also really liked Lizzie being concerned about the quails.

Edwin was sweet too in his own way. - (is it just me or did Daniel look a lot older?) Plus, aunt madge said his, "voice has dropped to the basement" which was cute. His present hunting got a tad old though.

But the whole, Liz and Ed as Nora and George was cute. (where did they get the wigs?) They danced. Awww.

Ralph was in the episode. Which is always happy. Where was Sam though? And ummm Ralph's car is in a ditch?? Is he ok?? What?

Emily was in this one too- and ok, I should save this but for christssakes how did Casey not know Emily celebrated Christmas? This should be her second Christmas as Emily's 'best friend' and she lives NEXT door- how is it even possible that... ugh. God. I mean I know Casey is a bad friend all but damn.

Also I know this is the last episode, so its not LwD's fault that Casey and Max are broken up without explantion, it's Disney's but still. Ok, "My breakup with the sweetest, nicest, cutest guy in school!" EW. She doesn't hate him now? He wasn't a jerk? Shit. Well that's just crap.

Aunt Madge was interesting. Why she didn't know Geroge was divorced OR remarried I don't know. That's the kind of thing that should travel down the family grapevine. Plus you would think that you know, spending last christmas with George's brother it would have come up(since Nora has MET him and all) Whatever. Wrong place to rant. Sorry. Aunt Madge was cool though, in her way. Whatever.

Ok so really now, who the hell lets their 16 year old go away with his friends for christmas. To a foreign country? I mean Lizzie and Casey with Dennis makes sense, and I'll even take Ed and Marti going off with Abby although it seems weird to be all last minute like that.

Oh and seriously? They didn't buy presents? They were just going to go shopping on boxing day? for cheaper prices? Are you kidding me? Marti is a little girl. A LITTLE GIRL. You can't just ruin all the magic of a 7 year-old's christmas like that. Seriously George and Nora- what is that?

Marti asked about santa. She is a believer! And they didn't buy her gifts? Its bad enough they didn't buy Casey, Derek, Lizzie and Edwin presents I mean that's terrible but Marti? Ugh. I'm with the kids, this is crap.

The whole "Derekus" thing was cute the first 12 times, but thing I was like, "YES WE GET IT!" Honestly. Normally i enoy Derek's egotism, but this? Yeah. Not feeling it. Plus ok-

If by the end of that episode i was supposed to feel.. Christmasty (Derekusy?) and warm and fuzzy? Yeah then FAIL LwD. Cause I was like... ok then.

I spent the first five minutes of this episode having NO idea what was going on. Why doesn't Casey know if Em celebrates Christmas? Why is Derek going to Florida? Why does Casey still like gushy about Max? Where is Sam? Argh!

Ok, so between "When Derek Met Sally", the news about only getting four seasons, and the buzz from people who've already seen "A Very Derekus Christmas", I'm all depressed.

So to make me, and everyone else, smile again, I thought it might be nice to remind ourselves of why we ship Dasey in the first place. So I'm starting a list of, reasons moments, lines, little things(Even Cast quotes) that makes me a shipper, and I was hoping to get additions from you guys.

I Ship Dasey Because:

1. He's her step brother, there's no genetic link-thank god.(Mice and Men S2)
2. He's a 'skirt chasing cad', and 'she's a princess'.
3. He already made out with her cousin. Who looked just like her. Who was HIS step cousin too. Not that anyone seemed to find that wrong.
4. She talks about him to Paul constantly.
5. She blows off her 'monthaversieray' to spy on his date.
6. He asks her best friend to bug her.
7. The look on his face watching her and Sam in the kitchen in "Male Code Blue"
8. His jaw dropped when she walked down the stairs all...uncovered in "Babe Raider"
9. They can't even clean a living room with out a big physical fight(All systems no go-s1)
10. He's the exception to every rule(Grade-A Cheater S3)
11. Doesn't she ever want to live a little dangerously? (The party-s1)
12. When their fights get physical, their limbs end up interwined.
13. They dress as a married couple for a school project.(GPA- S1)
14. They know exactly how to push each other's buttons and how to get to each other.
15. She makes him his favorite, Chocolate chip pancakes, when she's feeling guilty(The Venturian Canadiate- s2)
16. They're always just walking into each other's rooms.
17. They have a freakishly unnatural interest in each other's love lifes.

31. Honestly, he's suprised she had anything to do with this(SS s3) this line still breaks my heart a little. Oh Derek- she does love you. She really does!
32. He talks to the Casey in his head(Adios, Derek)

34 They stage grind. STAGE GRIND. Really now. (BoTb S2)
35. He takes any excuse he can to touch her, and she doesn't seem to mind.

37. Her force field has been activated!!!!! You all know the hula hoop thing still makes you melt everytime. EVERY time. Marti calls her 'smart and pretty and organazied' and then Derek who has CLEARLY been listening, puts a hula hoop over her head and says her force field has been activated. GUH.
38. He takes her dislike of horror films as a 'dare to scare' because.. he's obbessed with her(FN-S3)
39. The chemistry is just so obvious, and intense- it almost melts my screen.
40. He buys her a cell phone.. which i assume is the one he later dunks in mayo.(Pox Father and Adios, Derek)
41. They spend insane amounts of their time on each other, trying to out do each other, trying to prank each other, whatever. They're obbessed with each other. They're also totally willing to use Lizzie and Edwin, or for that matter Sam and Emily, as pawns in 'get' each other plan.
42. They don't take each other's crap, even as far back as, "The Room" they see right through each other.
43. What is she going to do? Study him to death? (Fright Night, S3)
44. He highlighted all the sappy passages for her, (LMTM s2)
45. He gets under her skin!
46. The ear pull in the old credits! (I miss that!)
47. He can't bring himself to hug her. Ever. Which I like to think means its just a 'too close' thing, like he just can't handle it.
50. He tries his hardest to keep Sam and Casey apart.
51. He doesn't seem to know they are fighting about his 'male code'...
Sam: Tell her Derek, tell her about your stupid Male Code!
Derek: Wait thats why we're fighting?
And Dasey shippers want to know.. why did Derek THINK they were fighting?

When Derek Met Sally.

Dasey: Umm.. 4?

You know it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I really think we've been spoiled lately. There has been SO much Dasey in the past few episodes- and I love it I do, but we can't REALLY expect it every episode.

That said, this episode had its moments:

~He brings her up a lot. He threw her into that conversation with Sam, and then this:

Sam: Yeah we're friends now
Derek: So be friends with the cute girl just don't ask her out.

Wait...what? So I guess he meant the blond Sam was checking out is cute, only it was phrased kinda like he meant Casey was cute, or both of them were cute? I don't know- but it intrigued me.

~I found his whole "I Don't have a heart thing" to be a lot like him telling Casey he doesn't have a conscience. Actually, I thought most of his interaction with Sally was a lot like the way he interacts with Casey.. but I'll come back to that.

~I like how he automatically assumes that Jamie meant he liked Casey. Because everything is about Casey right Derek?

~Derek and Casey will be coaching Jamie and Lizzie? How cute. This is also the first time they actually speak to each other all episode.

~Casey could get used to Derek waiting on her. *Smirk*

~"Lizzie's pretty cool unlike her sister" Yes Derek, because Casey was totally relevant there. It makes total sense, don't worry. Also I love that he refers to Casey as "Lizzie's sister" not you know, 'my other stepsister' or anything.

~Casey knows him so well, "hit on her yet?" Nice.

~Ok, but really, I need to say this. The whole, "you go I'll clean" thing with Sall at the end, and the whole, taking his words back thing, most of his interaction with Sally actually, reminds me of the way he treats Casey. It's the kind of thing he would have done for Casey, and a lot of those faces are looks he's given Casey. Plus the total cut in Derek and Casey on screen together scenes is so telling. Like the writers KNOW that a relationship with an outsider is only possible if the Derek and Casey banter is cut way down.

~Also we havn't seen Max in weeks. Not that I've missed him, but if you look at the episode guide, this is the 5th Maxless episode in a row. I love how totally unimportant he is.

Lizwin 4
Lizzie is so great in this episode. Edwin is barely in this episode, but I do like his reaction to the whole Jamie/Lizzie thing.

"Jamie? Here's an excuse you don't hear everyday..." and then Lizzie throws the Gecko at him. Hehe. Then his 'break his heart and get it over with' thing is cute too. Then after watching movies with Derek, he disappears for the rest of the episode.

But, as cute as Lizwin is, I gotta say liked Jamie/Lizzie. It's sweet.

~Aww Lizzie.

I love that she watched soaps.

Plus the whole, Jamie idolizing Derek thing was awesome. I loved when he said, "Chillz".

How great was he?

Derekcrotis and Samuel. Oh boys. How sweet. I like Sam mocking Derek's new life plan. I love that he is STILL defending his Casey relationship. I loved when he asked if 'girl watching' was a sport. This was cute too:

Derek: She's kinda like a guy...
Sam: *raises eyebrows*
Derek: But she's alllll woman.

Seriously, I love Sam now.

Marti is the best. I loved her little purple hat in the beginning, and then this:

Nora: I didn't even know you liked boys
Marti: Only the cute ones!

Awww. Plus she let Lizzie sit with the Gecko and watch cartoons. Marti is great.

Sally was alright. I did love when she told Derek his, "Cute smile and fake messy hair" weren't going to work on her. She was so instantly antagonistic towards Derek though, I mean I guess he dated her best friend Beth but still. Whatever.

Robert Clark! He was looking all adorable as Patrick and his lines where cute too. I liked him. They can bring him back in this Sally story arc if they want. I'd be good with that. (Plus, this whole Robert Clark and Kate Todd on LwD thing is just another, look at how every Canadian actor between 18-24 knows each other. I love that)

Call A Social Worker: 3

Eh. George was barely in this episode, and Nora only had a couple lines, and most of the time they talked to each other. So all I have to say is- Nice flashback hair Nora.

Oh and how come we don't get to see what George got her? I want to know!

WtF? 7.

They're trying to KILL me those LwD writers. I swear they are.

"You dated Kendra for three months."
~Sam.

How is that possible? In "Two Timing Derek" they'd been going out for 32 days, so "It's our Party", "Rumor Mill" and "Misadventures" took place over a span of two months? and yet it was only a week for "Slacker Mom", "Bully Brothers", "Power Failure" and "Adios Derek"????

I hate you the LWD timeline. I hate you.

Also Derek dated a Beth for three days? What is up with off screen Derek romances? And how bad could he possibly have been to her? We've been told in "Date with Derek" that Derek is a good date and they only went out for three days, what could he have done that Sally is so angry towards him from the start.

And ok, I know I sort of touched on this before, but considering Casey is the voice of LwD, it's weird that she is barely in this episode. It just again proves that if they're going to have a Derek romance, they have to cut Casey way down. Just give into the Dasey writers! Give in! Plus, the Derek plot was the same size, if not smaller than the Lizzie plot, which is weird.

Oh Oh and what was up with:
Sally: Have you seen my large Hummus?
Derek: *eyebrow raised*-weird sound effect- what?

Ummm... huh? I don't get it. We learn in a few lines that Derek took that order to his table...but that sound effect and Derek's "What?" and eyebrows make it look like he thought she said somthing dirty??? I'm so lost.

Eh. Lizzie was fantastic, and there were some cute lines, and its reinforced again that Derek hates tears and too much emotion("there is no crying in Smelly Nellies!")Plus I enjoy Smelly Nellies as LwD's only place in town place. I always love that.

But I'm really looking forward to next week and getting "Make me no Prom-ises" and "A very Derekus Christmas"

Its been a month and Derek is still mad about Casey and Sam.

This might be because the sexual tension between Derek and Casey has only increased.

See what I mean? Banter and tension and touching. Good to see nothing's changed.

Derek also still just bursts into to her room.

There is also some cute blue screen love.

Oh the lengths Casey and Derek go to bother each other. Casey in a blond wig, blowing off her big date with Sam, to spy on Derek's date with Emily. Love.

Casey does this of course, becase she loves him.

Casey is concerned that Derek is corrupting the kids with his, 'slackadasical' ways. Paul laughs at her. LAUGHS.

Derek: So...you and me later? My room?
Ok. Not really. I can pretend though.

Casey: I know enough to keep Edwin from turning into a skirt chasing cad like his brother.
Derek: I may not know what a 'cad' is, but I know enough to keep Lizzie from turning into a princess like you!

I don't really like this episode,(plus seater-online didn't have single Casey shot in its gallery for this one) but I do need to talk about these shots.

This is the first time Derek wears this shirt. Mal and I have a bit of an obession with this shirt.

Oh Edwin! Derek and Casey wanted some privacy. Oh alright, not really.

Derek is happy to give advice on lying.

This whole lying thing makes for a great reason for Derek to touch Casey. And squeeze her shoulders(and yet the man can't hug her? I love it so much)Also, is it just me or are their outfits kinda cutely cordiated. Aww.

Derek knows he's awesome. Also, I know we covered this already but he really does love to see Casey beg. Oh and- he's wearing that polo of love again. *sighs*
